Right I best get looking for an 09 then, is their an obvious way of telling it's an 09 ie I could find sn 09 on a 10-11 plate just registered late?

Yep. Beat it to death with a Nissan Micra. It still hurts, especially where the tank acted as an airbag for my groin. And that literally is still tender.
