Well not all the time. Insured with Sureterm and have a quote for £353 for 4x4 worth about 8k. Bristol postcode not good for premium but 34, no accidents, convictions, not modded. married etc... Not using for work. 4000 miles a year. Little or no risk to the insurance company. Why when I try and get insurance quotes is the next best price £80 more???? The only thing I don't like with my current insurance is that I cannot drive other car's on my insurance. Which is a pain. and why places like ASDA quoting £900 + and some £1500. I@M NOT A RISK Anyone recommend a good insurance company
Think it's just a case of prices going up (unlike me salary). Had the renewal through for Jo's (the wife) 125, last year new to riding, no NCB £295. It's come through with a years NCB at £355, WTF?
Try Adrian Flux.....always been good to me if price is your benchmark. I'm similar to you and have an old volvo that probably sees 3k miles a year as a second car.....premium went up 25% this year despite another years NCB and no convictions...Mad isn't it. So frustrated was i that I even went down the comparison sites to see what i could get....turned out adrian flux were only £10 dearer than the cheapest of the 74 quotes, and they only had a £200 excess whereas the cheapest comparison quote had a £700 excess. Give em a try, they may work out for you.
Do they hammer you specifically for the 4x4 'satans semen' correlation? How weighted is it actually for postcode, try making a quote based on a postcode that isnt considered a war zone, the EX one down here is pretty tame.
try a specialist 4x4 insurer.they may be more receptive to limited mileage. i have bmw m3 .when i went through the usual channels of price comparisons ,i was getting quotes of £725 for 3000 miles a year. i asked on an m3 forum, and was put onto a specialist insurer, that covers me with modified wheels and exhaust protected no claims £250 excess and i can do up to 5 track days a year (the excess goes up to a grand on track) all this for £425 comp.
Sureterm are a Specialist 4x4 and why they are cheaper. just that limiting me to not being able to drive other cars on my insurance. I have insurance on the kit car but that's just the same
