From what i can see its just called 'the new i pad' think i may traet myself to one of these at some stage
Well i had been promising myself the ipad 2, i will prob get it on contract later this year along with the iphone 5. Both my contracts are due for renewal around Oct
2048x1536 264dpi display, 44% better colour saturation A5X dual-core processor, with equivalent quad-core GPU 5MP camera 1080p video recording 10x faster mobile data performance (73Mbps!) - have to wait for UK carrier support, unfortunately Same pricepoint as iPad 2 Quite a lot of difference! More like the Panigale to 1198 than the new Blade to the old one, anyway! ;-) The screen is going to be immense, let's hope it's got 1GB+ on-board. Now if Apple will get their store back online, I can get on with pre-ordering one...
I bet you won't notice half of them in real world use...the current ipad2 is way good enough screen wise, as is the current A5 processor, it's already instant. The biggest difference will be the 4g, but I'm wireless only anyway. It'll be interesting to have a play with one wen the have one in. I have never used he inbuilt camera for recording movies anyway...
I'll definitely notice as I'm upgrading from an iPad 1! I skipped v2 as wanted to wait for the retina display. The processor and memory bump will also be a bonus, as having to close apps on the v1 is getting a pain. Agreed that the camera is a bit of a waste, as you look a right numpty taking photos with it, let alone video where you have to hold it up all the time! But the retina display will be a game-changer, I think. Getting full-res on web content and reading near-A4 content like magazines without having to zoom in all the time will be a winner, not to mention the games boost. Really hope they've put enough RAM in it though.
yea just reading 4 times better quality screen then the ipad 2. As we have both the Ipad 1 and 2 I can Si that both are great tablets. I'm over the US in 2 weeks so will look at them but no need to have another.
I love my ipad 2, best bit of kit I've bought, except of course for my recent purchase, my 27" imac JD
There great too mate. Bit of advise, if you have 4 gig of memory, go on crucials site, and upgrade to 16gig...it's cheap as chips at the mo, and if your editing etc...it's lightening fast... it cost me £70, apple wanted nearly £500.
+1 on what Si says. When RAM is on it's downward curve of it's cost sine wave max your mobo out. Processing speed is all well and good but if you need to move big lumps of graphics around in one go buy as much RAM as you can afford.
3rd gen iPad ey ? I like how they have to get the words quad core in there even thou it does not have a quad processor. Quad core graphics ? What the hel is that ? For people thinking they won't see a difference Screen has 4 x as many pixels as iPad 2 and a million more pixels than a HD tv It's not only the highest quality screen you've held in your hand , it's the highest quality screen on any device made
Was there any truth in the battery endurance rumours Dan? Or was that more 'the only problem is' propaganda?
Apple are claiming the same 10 hour battery life but until the tech sites get they're hands on 1 we won't know the real deal with them . They gotta power the better screen and new A5x chip so we wil have to wait for the bench tests
