Be carfull fitting non Honda mirrors bud, they allow the nosecone/screen to flex too much and can crack the thin bit going upwards from the mirrors................been there got the poxie T shirt and crack to prove it!!! but in fairness I did also fit a cheapish screen with no builtin edging along the top edge, got a good one now and the mirrors dont blurr up till about 130ish.

JD- the bank account is looking bad, but I have a big smile on my face. Bike is nearly complete now....rearsets next...when bank has had a rest.

FOC - I swear by BSD and Mark Brewin, he has been doing my bikes for a few years now. He does a lot of work for Bike and MCN, there is not very much he doesn't know about bikes. he is also very straight up, if he thinks you would be wasting your money he tells you.

BSD Performance – The home of motorcycle performance tuning

He test drives his work and re checks the bike and his labour rate is only £42 ph and he does mods and servicing, his dyno work is first class and they also do engine mods. They are based at Eye. They really are excellent and I am a right fussy git. he is happy to supply parts or fit ones you have got, always a good idea to ask him first though as he really is knowledgeable.

Thanks Haggler, the mirrors I have come complete with a new base fixing, stem and mirror so hopefully it avoids that risk (fingers crossed) at £270 for the pair they had better be good !

That's looking tidy now mate. Can't understand why manufacturers don't fit LED lights as standard. I just fitted my own made reg plate hanger tonight in prep for a ride out tomorrow.

Looks really good ieathaggis, nice and tidy.

@ Benn and JD, there was no bank robbery...honest !!!! Before I brought the bike I had a set amount of money for another bike. I always mod my bikes to try and get them how I want them. I had to choose between getting an older Blade ie 06/07 and modding it or getting a newer one and not having the momey to mod it. As I am not a patient person, I knew if I broght one that i didn't have the money to mod I would get very frustrated.

When the mint 06 came along with only 3 K on it and 1 owner the decision became easy. Having said that, I have still spent more than I should have done and have exceeded an 09 price. But Iwant to keep this one, so it is money well spent.

I had a HRC quick action throttle fitted as well, which I have to say is really good, took about 5 minutes to get used to if that. Much easier on the wrist, and gets the power on a little quicker IMO.

A quick 40 miler early this morning to set myself up for a proper ride out tomorrow, then a bloody good scrub of both minging cars. A quick lunch, then a dire rugby match. Just getting ready for another game before my brother turns up for dinner. Then the hard work starts of keeping off the pop so I can ride safe tomorrow. Not even decided where yet.

    Happy days.

Just bled the rear brake again, its a bit better :) but not great :(

Anyone else 08 onwards think the rear brake is useless, I hardly use it, just at junctions, around town, slow speed etc so its not an issue but even my old r1 was better and I now have hel lines and brembo pads and it is not much better

Mine is the same mate and it's an ABS model. Like u I hardly use it, but it would be nice if it had more bite.
