I'm on the lookout for a torque wrench for the larger stuff on the bike. I've been looking at the likes of the draper, sealey and also teng torque wrenches. Anyone have any recommendations?

I have Snap On both mech and digital, also a Teng tools bar and a draper.. BUT I did buy for chucking in the car a Lidi bar ages ago for 20.00! I tested it a couple of weeks ago as its NEVER been used after all why use that junk when I have a 320.00 Snap On long 1/2 mech bar (very nice too) it has calibration ticket the lot, BUT can you believe that the Lidi bar is spot on at 100NM! I couldn't! Anyway I've thrown it back under the tool box....lol

Now that looks like a good bit of kit. It may be overkill for a tinkerer like me though.

+1 for the Halfords (Professional) kit. Got an 8-60Nm one for the smaller stuff and a 60-300Nm one for the rest. Good quality and accurate.

Halfords | Halfords Professional Torque Wrench 8-60Nm

Halfords | Halfords Professional Torque Wrench 60-300Nm

A bit like buying a Skoda. Once you get past the badge they're actually pretty good :D Apols to anyone who drives a Skoda BTW; it was the first thing that came into my head as an example!

+2 for the Halfords pro stuff. I have brought quite a lot of the pro range of stuff over the last few months and is fine for what I do. I use my brain to earn money and my tool for the fun stuff lol

i've also got the halfords torque wrenches. do the job more than adequately and come with lifetime guarantee as long as you have the receipt (although some places exchange even without the receipt).

Also if you have a trade card you will most likely get a discount too. If you were closer to me (london) i would have gladly met up at a halfords and brought it on my trade card

BIL has the digital Snap on and I have the Halfords one. A huge difference in price and I'm happy with my Halfords onewhich I've had for about 10 years

Thanks Guys. My mate has a trade card so I'll find out how much it'll save me with that. Also like the look of the Teng tools torque wrench, and the Snap on but it's a bit pricey for me, considering I only pretend to know what I'm doing :)

Halfords pro has good reviews all-around looks like it's made by beta. Good quality kit. I nearly bought one but I only use one occasionally on critical bolts the rest of the time I go by feel so I bought the Clarke CHT141 for the money £23 it's good enough and surprisingly accurate for a budget tool. I got one too Colin. Funnily enough off Bats :D Not that I'll ever use it of course, but at those prices I thought why not.
