Ok, firstly every ride out should be complemented with pics, sorry iPhone had a fit whilst I was out, so you will just have to take my word for it that it's actually happened After nearly 6months of waiting I have finally managed to get my leg over my Blade for albeit a couple of hours riding, I managed 90 or so miles taking my total to 128, now the route if your interested? Was M55 to kirkham A586, A6, over Quernmore to Caton onto Devils Bridge, and similar return. So, how did it go? After trading a K1 GSXR 750 for a blade, my expectations of the Honda have been high and pleased to say have not been in vain. I did a 6mile squirt just to get some heat in the tyres, the roads I travelled are familiar to me, I have traveled on them many times with some good bends and different road surfaces. First thing I noticed, the ride was smooth I could feel the suspension working but the bike seemed to stay nice and stable through out the trip, I'll put that down to the time spent by the Mr Bats on here spending time sorting my suspension setting for my weight "cheers man" I found when cornering the blade turned in quicker? In fact I think the bike did it for me? I only had to think about it and I was round it. The bike feels so responsive. I kept under 7000rpm and short shifted most of the time, I did get confused a couple of times as to what gear I was in I'll put this down to the torque being very different to what I'm use too? And the fact I was that occupied enjoying the experience I probably didn't give a shit counting them What I did get on two occasions when shifting up a false neutral? somewhere from 3rd to 6th I think. And it felt strange when changing down "slipper clutch?" Again newbie syndrome i think. The brakes are something else as they got warmer they just felt better and better. So on the whole I'm well chuffed so far. Really can't wait to get out again and will be jumping at the next chance. So to sum it up. MUCKING FAGIC
Nice one gazza!! you will get used to the slipper in no time as for the false neutral?? hmmm But glad you like it fooking mint aint they just wait till you get the mods that sort it problems out haha!!
Check the position of your gear shift lever. I had a couple of false N's when i first got my blade. Moved the shifter down slightly and that cured it.
I think the false neutrals are deffo rider error, not engaging it proper etc. I know all we have talked about for the past 6 cold wet months is how good the fireblade is, blah blah blah but I don't think any amount of talk can really prepare you for it in the flesh. It's proper mint and I can honestly say well worth the wait.
Morning Freedom of choice I'm Walking fine this morning. I must say left wrist is aching? Not for obvious reasons! Maybe all those gear changes and lack of riding these past six months? ABV. Hmmmmm Boy are you in for a surprise ! Morning ABV Yes I belive so It becomes a different Animal once you go over this. I'm sure with time and practice I'll get there. The power is awesome. What am I saying!! Everything about the bike is awesome.
Haha remember when I was running mine in gazza in the IOM I took it to above 10.000 rpm once and thought fook me!!!!!!!
A cracking first write up there buddy. As abv says.....your in for a surprise!! (after you've run it in) As for the false neturals.....i have had a few... but none now i've got use to the bike. Well enjoy and ride safe Jay
I also keep getting false neutrals but on downshifts between 2nd and 3rd but only ever at slow speeds. yeh just wait till its run in as there is a slight difference coming out of a corner at 5k and then having to short shift but coming out at 8k and letting it scream to its redline is an experience i suppose you will just have to wait for. just ride to scotland and back then it will be fully run in for the journey back
I remember it well. Windy thought you was trying to catch him to pass him, when you was trying to get him to slow down because of the low cloud Game on in his mind
