This is very helpful but with all the ride in ride out services available for suspension setup i think i will leave it to somebody who really knows what they are doing

Thanks for that Slow, but I am still not sure I want to muck around with it either. Mine is as factory set up. I am 12 stone approx excluding leathers, boots and helmet etc and sure mine could be a lot better suited to me and the local Fen roads. I was going to ask the dealer when it goes for it service. But as you say it give you a better understanding of one of the dark arts. Thanks again.

At 17st you need to increase your preload a bit to get the right sag. If you are heavy on the back of the bike, then the steering would feel slow as the forks are a bit extended, perhaps??

I'd never do my own. Mike Dawson at md racing does mine... £50, the best thing you can do to your bike!!

IMO - anyone who's bike I've ridden who have tweaked their own, they ride like barges...and as it's usually gradual tweaks you don't know how bad it's got. Unless you really know what you are doing, I'd leave it to the experts.

What tyres are you running mate?

I was also thinking the poor turning could be tyre related, how many miles they got on them

mine was more the vague front end!! OE tyres certainly give you that...

and a 55 rear tyre will help the turn in

Nothing to do with tyres then mate! Get the suspension set up by a pro - front end issues shouldn't be an issue with the blade lol

already had it set up once by MH Racing (Ohlins Technician) felt better when i tried it around the bumpy country lanes where his workshop is but once i got back onto normal roads and more importantly my local KD roundabout it felt terrible. Eventually got a mate to adjust it a little which helped but just not getting a confidence inspiring corner out of her yet.

17 stone on standard susp is defo your prob!!

You will need new fork springs and oil at minimun ideally a fork conversion to your weight etc abot 400 notes! a spring for rear or a new unit ie maxton ktec ohlins etc etc!

Mines like a different bike since I had the suspension professionally set up. The bike might benefit from weight matched springs and oil to suit your weight.

    On the handling issue.......
Been thinking about dropping the yolks slightly to reduce front rake for better turn in.
Ive done this to all my previous bikes and liked the results.
Anyone know if its possible to undo the bottom triple clamp without removing the fairings?
