Before you start shelling out, and if Arthur is busy, honestly give mike a call... He's a genius, worked on most bsb and Wsb ducati bikes and also done bits for stoner! Ducati specialist but also does all bikes!

Had my pal Bruce who is 6'4 and 18st gixxa sorted, transformed the bike in an hour and made it feel like it had a proper front end!! On a gixxa.... Lol

MD Racing : Ducati Service, tuning, servicing, racing, parts, engine rebuilds, mechanic in Surrey

Tell him the smart tours lads sent ya. (he will know what it means)

Na in all honesty you could set sag and stiffen then bike up probs 2 click back from all max setting and it would feel better!! Only probs to cheating the springs and setting the comp/RB to hard is harsh ride and a good kick out of bumps haha!!

In other words you almost turning it into a pogo stick!

So if you dont wanna spend big at least get rear spring 80 notes front springs 100 notes and some diff oil 10 notes matched to your weight! set sag thats 190 of your hard earnt money and a miles better handling bike!

Should have said mate we can have a look over it, then go for a ride and test/adjust.. Basic sag is first place, then tyre presure check, then a good ride with some base settings and some tweaks after that.. Then a good blast! :D

Still don't understand why so many people are so reluctant to adjust their own suspension.

I've adopted some Guy Martin settings from a Performance Bike magazine article of a few years ago, just backed the compression off half a turn front and rear. Still nice and firm for my 12.5 stone frame. A definite improvement over stock.

i dont doubt that it will be an improvement but unless the bike is mainly thrashed round IOM you could probably get an even better set up for it. saying that he knows a little more than me so they could be spot on

i have to say when i had the R1 i took some settings that someone about my weight posted up on the forum after having their bike set up and it was spot on for me.

Maybe if some of you guys/girls do or have had your suspension set up perhaps you could post up your kitted weight and what settings you ended up with..........maybe a new post for that one

Blimey. I'm 15 st 7lbs wearing Paco Rabanne. Probably nearer 17st when leathered up, boots, helmet and gloves. That said the only thing slowing me down is the thing between my ears
