I have two sets of leathers, one for summer use a Dianese Laguna Seca, and one for Autumn being a Furygan Kangeroo two piece. I am looking to get some new leathers again this year and as much as i like the Dianese stuff i feel that my body does not fit it perfectly as i had to have my trousers altered at a cost of £160 which was ok i thought? I quite like the idea of some fitted leathers from Scott, crowtree or even hideout, has anyone got some that they can shed the light upon? Thanks.
I have the Alpinestars MX-1 suit, its a great suit with lots of protection and having crashed in it I can confirm its does what it says in the tin. Am hoping to get the Alpinestars GP-Pro 2 piece suit in the next couple of weeks. I previously a had Spyke race suit and that was also a comfortable suit but not sure how it would have faired in a crash
My two piece Wolf leathers were made for me some 10 years back at Harpers, too many burgers over those years have meant many alterations by hill4leather.com in Aldershot
A* 2 piece suit here as it a bit more flexable, i.e. winter time or if it has forecast rain, I wear a textile jacket with the 2pc trousers.
Got a Spidi 1 piece for the summer, and Hein Gerike 2 piece PSX-RS all weather gear for Spring/Summer/dodgy weather
I'm not the right shape for 1 piece leathers .... I've got 2 piece Richa and a pair of red route jeans for when just popping down the town
1pc Arlen ness. Used to have A* but gave up biking for about 6 months and sold them and all my gear! Got the Arlen ness 1pc from BMF! Should have been £600 but with a bit of haggling got them for £200! ( two of the little Arlen ness plates have come off! On from knee and other from elbow) Also bought puma boots for £100 from same stand! Thanks Gary
Just bought new a RST Pro series 1 piece in Black /White with Red bits. They are about £490.00 at the moment .I have money for the latest and greatest suits but when weighing up quality and leather +Protection they all look the same so bought one and with the change bought a new pair of Alpine stars Supertech R vented race boots in red/white (nice).Just picked up some gloves today so will photo and post Sunday .
I'm a bit of a leather whore........... 2 piece Alpinestars Blue Octane - Summer use or when I'm off the pies. TBH these are too tight because the pies talk to me 2 piece Alpinestars, Red name forgotten - Winter use or when I'm back on the pies 1 piece Arlen Ness Blue in Roo Skin - these are my track day leathers - very flexible 1 piece BKS White - still breaking them in. And I tried some Scott Leathers on today - easily the best quality I've ever tried. Didn't get them though, thinking of putting the Blue Octanes on flea bay and getting made to measure instead. Anyone else have made to measure and if so what kind? (OMG is this a thread hijack? - sorry admins)
What about the wall??? was it brick? did it sustain any scratches from the leathers? I need to know more to compile my research!!!
I did have a 1 peace Spyke suit . Top of the line , very good fit and very soft but i quit smoking and gained 3 stone so iv sold them on and in the market for an Alpinestars MX-1
Another arlen ness 1 piece here. fits perfect and offers really good protection. Not too expensive either
BKS m2m 1 piece still like new after 4 years. Purchased with a view for track day use, however not that convenient for every day use.
I have a one piece set of Dainese leathers that I bought years ago. I saw Michael Rutter racing in an identical suit in BSB. Every time I put them on they ooze quality and make me feel invincible though I've never had an off in them. The cost was £1000 in the UK but I picked them up for £600 in Andorra. As much as I love them they're seriously over priced and would never have paid full price for them. The only downside to them apart from the price is they seem to shrink slightly when left in the garage over Winter
Berik 1 piece in black for me, sometimes wear a Joe Rocket textile Repsol jacket with a pair of leather trousers. The Berik is so comfy and the quality is top drawer, I believe they are made in same factory as Arlen Ness.
Off the peg Frank Thomas kangaroo one piece ventilated, less than £250 seven years ago, still quite good despite numerous soakings etc. and one piece MJK cow hide over twelve years old.
