Got one of these Drift X170 Action Camera - Drift Innovation Just struggling with how i am going to mount it. Is tanktape strong enough to hold it to the side of the bike? Cant fit it to the top of the tank as I have a dark double bubble. I know i can remove the pillion seat and tape it to that with tape going all round it for rear view for a session or 2 but how about front view?
just been in the garage looking at how i am going to mount mine. i have had it stuck on the side of my hemet at 150 mph ,with the sticky pad and clip that comes with the camera, but you cant have them stuck on your helmet or fuel tank on track days. if you are going to stick it on the fairing i would have a backup wire to fasten it to the bike just in case the tape fails. other than that i am looking at using the ram mount system from "adventure spec"
I heard of someone wrapping the heftiest jubilee clip they could find in black tape and putting it around their crash mushroom, using the bit of the clip that had gone through the ratchet to mount their camera too.
you using the same cam? i was kind of thinking of using the remote strap on one of the other mounts around the indicator and lots of tanktape to keep it steady? what do you think?
On my 05 blade their is no protuding fork leg to attatch it too and cant mnount it ontop of the mudgaurd as when i brake the top cowl will smash into it.
Are these suction mounts any good? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Camera-Suct...HAYA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1332097060&sr=8-1
Suction mounts and sticky tape work, but the trackday marshals can ban them. Best bet is a mechanical / bolt on bracket that can't fall off. If anyone needs a bracket, I can make one for ya?
I had a bracket to hold my Aldi camera pointing backwards, good when you pass people and when they pass you . Do you have any M8 or M6 bolts that you could bolt a bracket to, rearward or forward? I used an alternator M6 bolt once for a lowdown forward facing video?
Can make ya a bracket to bolt to mirror mount if you remove mirror. Gotta be careful how you mount cameras to avoid shake and vibration. Solid mount, hold camera in a foam clamp and hopefully decent anti shake on camera !!!
i have a suction mount fot my sat nav. i tried it on top of the tank cover , but it wouldnt stick ,as the surface has to be perfectly flat ,and the top of the tank isnt.
they canceled the track at the last min that morning , so we had to ride on the public road here is a little clip TYGA Desmodici Thailand - YouTube here is one from to weeks ago on the RC8R at Sepang with some different angels you can try SBR Track Days - Feb 2012 - YouTube
