First fill up this year ,110 miles out the tank £17 @135.7 per litre ! Daylight robbery and its only going to get worse.
£17 for 110 miles is cheap in my eyes. I have to pay 139.9 for regular unleaded and £21 for 120 miles!
If you fit a power commander to your bike and have it custom mapped not only will it run that bit faster it'll also run at it's optimum fuel efficiency too. If you ride it often in the summer you'll be surprised how soon you recoup the cost and eventually start saving.
When I first used a power commander on an '01 model I downloaded a standard map to suit the bike plus mods, when I got round to having a custom map done it gave me between 20 and 30 miles more per tank and 7bhp. Worth every penny!
As much as it pee's us all off ,my take on it is i work hard so if i am on the blade ,ball's to it fill it up and the faster it emptys the more fun i have had. Its not ideal but its the only way i can deal with it.
I was gonna buy a track bike but seriously considering an SM as a commuter now instead as im sick of wasting £200-£250 a month on petrol to get to pissin work its fcukin me right off!!!
I filled up the car today"..........wait for it.".........154.9 per litre......bargin.... £112.34 I get about 400miles out of a tank!
This is for the attention of firebloke.I have been looking at them on e-bay after reading your recomendation and they are round about £270 for a pc5 . Would it really make that much difference as someone has posted between 20 and 30 miles more out a tank . Also how easy is it to fit and do you defo need a custom map ? if it needs a custom map and set up thats more money . On the whole it sounds like a good idea. Thanks for any further advice .
Not used a full tank yet this year on the blade since my Dyno time. but filled up my daily drive last week and cost me £89.95 to brim from almost empty
I feel for anyone who has massive mileage a week when filling up, I count myself lucky, walking distance to work etc so I don't really bat an eyelid when I fuel the blade. After all, it's my hobby right? And hobbies cost money. I always like to play fuel roulette though when filling up the car. You know the game, you try and stop the pump bang on. I only did it the other day there I was filling the car, bang £20.01p, I went in the shop to pay and the guy behind the counter, laughing said hard luck mate, your alright don't worry I'll let you off the overs. So I threw him my £10.00 and pissed off pretty quick
Hey Beavis, I bought a second hand pc111 from ebay for £130, IMO the PCV is all about having the latest, shiniest version. Sure it does a few more tricks but for the road the PC111 is more than adequate. It cost me £140 to fit the PC111, K+N air filter and custom map. I gained 6hp, at least 20 miles more per tank and it's delivery is so smoooooth! It won't take long to recoup that money with the savings I'll make.
I've seen PCV's going for a lot less than that mate, like this one: eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace
