I'm considering wrapping the blade .... I think i'd like to do it in Matt Black and maybe add replace some of the graphics in matt white .... One of my mates wrapped some bits in a matt carbon fibre, which looked quite smart .... it's got me thinking! My bike is clean enough ... but there are lots of niggle bits that would be hidden by the vinyl! Am i mad??
Having seen many cars such as lotus, Evo, etc I carbon wrap, don't go that direction. Just looks like chalk board from a distance. Matt black yes, carbon no
I don't like it but I can see why some people do, just looks plain and dull to me if you want carbon do it properly IMO If you add the white graphics on matt black it will look a lot better fletch its worth a try but how much will it set you back to do the whole bike ?
I don't mind the idea of wrap but matt or carbon, not my cup of tea. I like shiny ! Are you planning on doing it yourself or paying someone ? It looks like it's a bit tricky. I can't even put a sticker on without getting air bubbles.
I'm considering doing it myself .... 1.5m x 100m of matt black film is £280! That's more than enough for about 5 bikes i would think! I think i'll get a good size bit and attempt the tank cover! They also have a pearl white vinyl, might look ok with Matt Black graphics!? At the end of the day, if it sucks ... it gets pulled off again!
The 3m ControlTac 85 is said to be very nice stuff to work with, with a 3-5 year warranty on fading and cracking
Rooroorooster is the geezer to ask. He's done some cracking wraps. http://1000rr.co.uk/mods-upgrades-accessories-products/2927-4.htm
I think some items on a bike can benefit from this, mirrors for example i think could look ok, maybe a hugger etc, little bits and bobs. It could even be used on my current 954 to put onto the frame at about knee height, where constant '' gripping '' of the frame with my kness has started to wear away the paint and make it shiny.
