Am i presuming thats what you want rather than thats what you've got? I called everywhere on the Akra titanium i couldn't get it below £780 - its an £980 pipe IIRC
They aren't doing the sportspack with the 2012 yet as far as I know, that was a promo to shift the outgoing 11's. The akra pipe is fab and I think the only pipe that won't give Honda warranty issues..... Am I right on that? I looked it up, it's def £980 for the ti slip on!
I am looking forward to seeing a 2012 model with a few tasty mods as most of them so far have only had little bits done to them
AARRRGGHHHHH Work have cancelled my day of tomorrow, so going friday now. Although ordeing the 2012 in black I keep returning to the idea and dealers website looking at the 2010 black gold thats brand new with the alarm, hugger, cowl, hel brake lines, screen, tank pad, fual cap cover, akrapovic exhaust, datatag, crash bungs and tail tidy. With the bike priced at £10,975.00 So if i get the 2012 im going to be paying £11,700.00 for the C-ABS version and it wont have half of that kit on it, The exhaust being the main thning as the akrapovic is £700+ and I would want one! Just airing my thoughts, which I know have done on this thread already but the misses is fed up of me talking about it! You guys can apriciate my situation better!
If it was me I would go for the 2010 black and gold, get all the kit.... Reason why ! Because if your anything like me you will want an ohlins rear shock (or simular) and cartridge kit or upgraded internals within a year, the new bike just isnt different enough to lose out on the extras, then all your missing out on is the clocks, and apart from seeing how much you are breaking the law by or not they arnt that special. also I would bin the alarm and go for reasets or levers or PCV as they are a pain in the arse drain your battery, leave you stranded etc etc and no one listens to them anyway, also It did not change my insurance at all Believe me I am not slating the 2012 bike it is lovely the suspension setup is a little better and the clocks and wheels look good but I just dont think you will feel like you got the best deal, I may be wrong and whatever you do we will all be chuffed to bits for you
I think the alarms are already fitted unfortunately as in don't normally bother with them. They make no difference to my insurance at all! Will see on Friday. Gonna ride both of them again!
Phantom, IMO if you're laying down 11k or 12.5 k it doesn't make all that much difference. Personally though i'd go for the 2012, particularly if you intend to keep it for a few years. In a few years when they release the 2015 or whatever, the 2010 bike will be 2 models out of date, and therefore will attract less secondhand....probably not the difference you paid, but could be half. Also, if you are keeping for a few years it'll be nice to load it with kit over time, keeping your interest levels up....if you had it all from day 1, what are you going to do when you want to lay some cash out in 12 months? btw, you quoted the 2012 as 11.7 with ABS, is that a deal you got because the RRP is 12. And as per my previous post, i'm assuming you wanted the akra can thrown in but haven't found anyone that'll do that? I know i couldn't......Best i got was 20% off the can but def not thrown in!
Its all down to what you want, like jamie says i would also opt for the 2011 with all the bells and whistles and with the money you have saved go and upgrade the rear shock, but be honest with your self did you really notice a huge difference between the 2, if not you dont need to upgrade the rear shock and you have still saved a few £'s that you can go and spend on more mods oh and im guessing this is the bike that is tearing your mind apart 2012 '61' HONDA CBR1000 RR-A Fireblade Motorcycle Blade | eBay
The dealer has hinted that he can do the 2012 for around 11,700 yeah, There are some online at that price already anyway. All the kit on the 2011 bike comes out at around 2k plus I will be finacing part of the bike as well and the 2011 has 0% finaance on it until the end of March, where as the 2012 finace is aorund 7%. Think i'm swaying back to the old model as finacially it makes more sense and its still an awesome machine! AAARGGHHHHHHH
I just saw it's a 2010 model, but it's wrong advertised as 2012 model. So, its not really a deal then. It doesn't have ABS and it will be difficult to sell it in the future. They couldn't sell the non ABS Version, even the special Castrol and McGuinness Editions are still in the show rooms. At Blade Group Reading they sold the non ABS McGuinness for 9.999 GBP inc. the Honda sports pack. ASV Levers are 150 GBP, System 4 Alarm around 200 GBP. The Honda sports pack is 599 GBP.
I came from a GSX-R1000 - The choice was simple, black, sell a kidney later and add bits Got the tail tidy and full venture shield but I get the feeling thats just the start grizzle
10 pages and you're still uming and ahing ! You're worse than my misses LOL For me, I agree with everything Jamie says, particularly about the alarm. Even if it's already fitted everything is negotiable. In fact I'd go as far as saying having an alarm would put me off. Everyone I know that's had one has had problems. If money's no object get the new model and pay for the bling you want. Otherwise I think the 2011 is the best deal.
^^^^^^ Oh your a naughty boy Stevebetts lol ^^^^^^ Does he not have enough thoughts flying around his head Damn sweet ride though ..... even better than your HRC ..... there I have said it dont sell the rearsets they look sweet
