just wonderin whos goin to this me and the missus and poss some others from norfolk . went last year hope the weather is as good .interesting day out and a chance to put faces to names.
Just giving this post a bump... Still in two minds weather to go tomorrow or not, is anyone from here gonna go?
Please pardon my ignorance blackblader but did we chat? There was quite a few parked up and i was talking to a few brother riders but i never got introduced to a blackblader (i don't think?) When i last looked i thought i was the only blackblader there! PS, thanks, spent all week polishing the bloody thing heheehe
didnt speak mate but you were pointed out to me by others you passed us on a40 into city well worth polish looked well smart. ive just got to get all the flies off mine after a 320 mile round trip to the ace and yes you prob was the only blackblader there
Ah yes i remember giving you a wave on the A40, yours looked great too, love the look of the black blades. Christ that is a long haul, your butts must've been aching by the time you got home, mine was and i'm under an hour away from the Ace. One guy i was chatting to (Wes) from the other forum said he'd ridden down from Bristol, i was even more surprised when he said he got there in just under 2hrs!
I got to the Ace Cafe about 1ish and it was very quiet, there was only about 10 blades there, I had 1 cuppa and did the vincent.....
Hehehehe... Yeh likewise, i got there just before 1 and there was about 10 Blades lined up. I had a quick chat with a few people, had a drink then done the off. Bit of a let down if the truth be heard
Yeh true, last year i met up with 10-15 other Blades up Crystal Palace at 9:30am and we all got the the Ace by 11:00am and it was packed! Probably the last time i bother with it unless lots of people show an interest, also in fairness some friends that had been at the Ace since 9:30am said it did get quite busy in the morning but everyone seemed to leave early?
Typical really, I didn't get to go last year and then when I went this year my mate's bike broke down at Reigate and when we got there the turn out of Blades was not what I had hoped for. Hopefully there will be a good turn out of Blades from different forums/places when Ace Cafe come to Brighton.
brighton burn up in sept mate an ace cafe event went last year on way back from france was heaving with bikes everywhere. hopefully goin this year again after our european trip. hopin its as hot as it was last year lovely day got to get there early though.
Oh that fiasco, i did vouch to never do that Brighton Burn up after last year... A journey that would normally take me less than an hour took over 3 hours to get there. The whole route was saturated with old bill pulling as many bikers as humanly possible (inc me). And when i did eventually get there it was so packed it was ridiculous. Plus i fooking hate scooters and the place was packed with em!
Haha ... me too ... I got pulled in Appledore with my three buds . I was on the RG and them 4 stingers made quite a crackle .. bit like metal being ripped in a dustbin So this cop starts scrutinising the back end of my bike and after an age I asked him what he was looking for .. "the e11 mark on the pipes" he says .. so I laughed and said " they hadn't even invented Europe when this bike was made " ... " really " he says in that 'do you think I'm stupid' tone of voice (yup .. :sad " listen son .. that bike is older than you are " quips I .. My mates all drew breath and as one said to me " shutup .. don't make it any worse " :hand: Well he looked about 17 years old ...... " it looks like my mates bike " he says " and thats only a couple of years old ". So at great length I explain that it was a fully customised special with modern running gear but was in fact registered in 1987 - " try looking at the number plate ".... he stands bolt upright (shorter than me.. bless ) .. looks at the plate ... and then looking a little embarrased tells us all to move on . The daft thing is ..... all my mates had small plates and 'not for road use' cans but he didn't even check ........... :boink:
Hahahaha nice story Nutty. I don't know if i can say i was lucky or unlucky really? Going down the M23 minding my own business when a car pulls out into the outside lane in front of me, then purposefully trying to slow me down? (i was doing about 70). So once Mr Bellend pulls into the middle lane i overtake briskly and just at that point i hear sirens and see blue flashing lights right up me arse. My first thought was to look at my speedo and i was doing 104mph Anyway, to cut a long story short, he didn't nick me for my speed he just gave me a fixed £60 fine for my plate so a kinda result really? After, while i was putting me lid and gloves on he drove off and by the time i rejoined the M23 he'd already pulled another fella on a Rizla GSXR that also had an illegal plate!... Bet the Sussex constabulary earn't a small fortune that day off the back of us bikers... disgusting
