I've been tempted by the 0% finance honda are offering on the older blade but I could really do with not paying the money out till I've paid a few things off over the next few months so would rather wait but how often do they do 0% finance deals? I've never owned any car or bike new and never bought from a dealership so this is all new to me. If I'm going new would I be best going for the newest one? Any opinions appreciated.
I think you might see 0% on the new blade once they have shifted all the old models.on the Honda website the 0% deal is only on untill the 31st march but the offer will be there as long as they still have old stock me thinks!
Very much a personal thing. Having riden both the new 2012 model and mine (2010) I would say it is minmal, but a 0% deal could be too good to pass up if it's a decent price to begin with. i certainly wouldn't want to be paying full price
I agree 0% deals are what you want and they are giving a load of goodies away with old model as well which would save you more pennies in the long run!
Not ridden the 2012 yet so can't comment on it, but the 2011 is awesome imo, good deals to be had, free kit and 0%, no brainer.
First time i have seen 0% on any bid was last year when i bought my Blade new . I don't mind having finance when its not costing any thing . I would go to your local dealer and have a chat and a cuppa , Explain your situation and ask what the cheapest way for you to reserve a bike on the 0% deal . When i got mine the 0% was with Honda Finance , not Black horse like it was when i bought my 600 from the same dealer 4 years ago . Just ask if Honda stop the offer would the dealers be able to offer 0% with a different provider or not . He who dares Roders , he who dares my son !!
Yeah I'd rather have finance but got to be 0%, what kind of kit are they giving away with the blades? Like I say I know anything about buying new lol. I went to the dealership on wednesday and spoke to the guy and because I want to pay off some things he reckoned to hold off but that doesn't get me a fireblade now lol. I prefer the styling of the 11 so would prefer getting one to the 12, will be talking someone today about it.
Someone else is looking at the moment he got this offer Simular to what I got when I bought my bike last year 2010 black gold that's brand new with the alarm, hugger, cowl, hel brake lines, screen, tank pad, fual cap cover, akrapovic exhaust, datatag, crash bungs, asv levers and tail tidy. With the bike priced at £10,975.00 which i think is a very good deal, although there are others out there
im the same as you with 0% - its the only time ive had finance - however look at it subjectively, you buy an old model for slightly less with 0% but i think it'll depreciate really quick, whereas the new one wont and the say £800 it'll cost in finance, will make up for itself in the depreciation.... and you will have the newest model which on the whole seems to be an improvement on an already brilliant bike. try them both and see which one you prefer. are you riding at the moment? if so, hold on till next year for some better deals, maybe a slight upgrade in spec and some new funky colour schemes....oh and i've got a 2010 hrc so im not a biased 2012 owner! lol
But this does show you are of impeccable character and have the best taste in bikes, Spoonaltap sounds like he has a touch of class about him, I would listen to the man, he obviously knows his stuff
I've got a zx9r at the minute and think I am gonna wait, insurance fully comp is hellishy expensive. My 9 only costs me a hundred quid a year. Will save up and get my finances sorted and hope they do a good finance offer in the next few months. Don't mind the depreciation as I'll never sell it. If I could get an 11 model with a lot of extras and a decent wedge off I'd be mega happy. Will wait and see.
you know me ever so well jamie. if only i could get the 2012 bike in 2010 hrc colours. job done! (that would be the fastest blade ever)
The 0% deals are fantastic, as i bought mine last year on a 0% deal... Its just a comfort to know that every penny i re-pay is going straight off the bike and not to the fat cats who live of interest rates!! Jay
Let me put the spanner in the works, credit make the world go around and we all need it, however, a new bike on credit whether 0% or not will need gap insurance, redundancy cover an alarm fitting etc etc. If you can afford the payment and your job and personal circumstances are solid then a new bike would be wonderful? I ride an RR5 with 2000 miles on the clock it looks and rides like new and whilst I would love a new model the dept scares me! It’s your call. As far as whether or not to wait, I would guess that as the BMW creeps closer to knocking the blade off the top of uk sales, further deals will come through on the 2012 model, they discount the older models to clear them out but they will then need to sell bikes when the older models have gone. Pay off other commitments early first with the money you would spend on a new blade, the interest you save may be enough to risk waiting and you will sleep better at night?
Wise words Carl Just hope he is not like me, I made a structured and well laid out plan of what I had to do to pay of some debt save a good deposit and cover all the eventuality's, I thought I would test ride a few bike's, ponder the pro's and con's of each then make a decision based on all the information I had, then in a few months time think about buying one.... After all that I test rode the R1, RSV4 and the blade in the same morning, walked back into the showroom saw the HRC thought mmmmm shiny and 0%, and thrust my deposit into the dealers hand When it comes to bikes my heart is much stronger than my head
My opinion for what it's worth. 2011 blade for 10+ vs 2012 11,600 No brainer 2012 everytime There offering 0% with all the extras to get rid of the old stock. And as someone else quotes they will depreciate alot quicker. 2012 has much better suspension, instrument panel, wheels and in my opinion looks
Cheers guys I'm gonna wait, I prefer the black frame and wheels on the 12 blade so will get a new one unless I can get a really good deal on a repsol when I come to buy. Deffo going with honda as a mate has done marketing for them so should be able to get me a good deal if they come along. Fingers crossed anyway, hopefully I'll join the ranks of owning a blade soon.
