speedo glass !!

    hi,
    okay bike outside today about 2hrs in direct sunlight, went to start bike noticed clock glass had cracked with no damage marks !!!
    went to crewe honda they said quite common and will replace under warranty,which is good.
    so just a warning for others # beware # if the comes out again this year :)!

    Never seen that before just as well the meter upper assembly (glass) is available separately at a snip of £108 + VAT !

    Seem to remember a similar problem with Ducati instrument displays cooking in the sun.

    Heard of this before but only when an aftermarket screen has been put in the bike.

    Thats what honda said but as mine is a very dark tint double bubble.The double bubble screen supplied by honda has a tinited portion lower in the 'v' above clocks to prevent clock screen cracking, however in direct sunlight that is gonna make no difference !!

    Have seen a lot of people put a small cloth over their clocks at bike meets etc just to be on the safe side. I've got a DB screen on mine but never been a problem so far. ( touch wood ( snigger))
