    Hi Peeps,

I was on my way to work and my fuel light came on, and it went too 0.5 before i filled her up.

    My question is................

What's the reserve capacity? and what the greatest number you have seen flashing whilst the fuel light has been on?

After doing a bit of research i found this..

Fuel Capacity: 4.7 gallons, including 1.06-gallon reserve

So that should mean the the flashing numbers should go to 10.6..... but i wouldn't take it past 0.8... As it would be a Basturd to push lol..

well i disagree with above, my light came on last week i had 12 miles to get to nearest fuel station it was reading 0.4 when i got there, so i filled right to the top and it took 15 litres so meaning i had 2.7 ltrs left, thats over a half a gallon, doesnt it read after getting to 0.9 does it not got to 1.0? this meaning you have used 1 litre so it would then go on until it read 3.7 as thats the reserve. confussed.com

Do you mean the number should go to 1.06?? And since it is only one decimal point then 1.0 or 1.1 but I do not have the balls to go that far... As you say, Barsteward to push!!!

And I am not sure where you got that from... Manual states 3.5 litres which is

    3.5 litres

    0.92 US Gallon
    0.77 UK Gallon

I don't think you want to try to go much past 0.7, Jay... 0.8 I think would be REALLY pushing it,

Also, my old CBR600F fuel reserve was based on distance travelled once it went on... So lots of idling at red lights meant an overreading of the reserve compared with actual... They say the Fireblade is based on actual fuel reading, but, I am just too pansy to take the chance...

Just saw Gary's post... Leads to a question, can we change the reading from Gallons to Litres, as obviously that is a large variable between litres and gallons!!! So it would depend on the unit of measurement between gallons and litres...

Guess I will be going home to read my manual!!! hahaha

Page 34 of the User Manual says you can change the units on UK models (E Type only)

The fuel mileage meter comes from the dealer measuring in gallons. As this is a UK only feature I would assume they use Imperial gallons rather than US

So 0.7 would be 0.7 of the 0.77 gallons of reserve available.

All we need now is a volunteer ;)
