    Hi All,

As some of you may know I work for a Honda/Yamaha dealer.

What with the recent threads with regards to recalls or possible warranty jobs I thought I would just post up to say if anyone has a questions or needs some advice from the "inside" please feel free to get in touch.

If you need to know about outstanding recalls, warranty extensions, parts info or pricing give me a shout and I'll see what I can do.

    Cheers
    MrB.

    Just a thought I bought a 2010 fireblade new a week ago.

Was there any recalls on it that should have been done?

    Thanks

    Hi there

I'm running a 2010 abs model that I bought from new. A few guys on here have had theyre ABS control unit changed from the D03 unit to the D04. I've checked mine and it has the D03 unit. Would you reccommend I change it.

    Thanks Colin.

Can you give your honest opinion on the oil burning issue of the 08+ models instead of the official line most dealers are being told to give

    Hi Colin,

Not aware of this one, can you expand on why they have had their units changed and was it a warranty job ? I'll try and find out the difference between the two.

I see, yes we have had one with a similar problem. Honda so far have instructed us to carry out a full system bleed which initially cured the fault. This only lasted a few days, we have now replaced the ABS front power control unit which again seems to have fixed the problem.

I am currently waiting to hear back from the customer to make sure all is OK.

Unfortunately you guys probably know about the same as me on this one. Honda are not very forthcoming with information even to the dealer network. It's only when questions are asked or problems occur does the information become available, at a push.

In a way thats worse as that just shows honda knew there was a major issue. The oil consumption is acceptable for the 2008-2011 models but not the 2012 model but yet they still wont do anything about it. oh dear

I think his response was very toung in cheek and would say what I wanted to hear in order for me to buy. It hasn't put me off.

When i was buying my 2011 last year, i had the option of waiting to buy the 2012 model.
My Honda dealer said the issues with oil would be unchanged in the new model.
Pistons and rings are the same.

Colin get it changed!! the ecu causes flat battery!! the movement on lever is caused by air!

Get in your dealer and kick off!! as for the 2012 bike only diff mechanical on the engine is camshaft profiles!
