Photoshop and the like aren't my strong point. A few HDR shots with Photomatix is about it. So apart from reducing the exposure or fitting a filter I'm stuck.

Saying that I like it, a slight reduction perhaps in the exposure would be interesting to see but nice composition.

Cheers mate . Same here with the software . I got CS5.5 master collection curtesy of work ( retail demo ) but aint got a clue how to use it . Looking for some photoshop how to guides on youtube now. Problem is they assume you know what the names of the tools are and where to find them . Hard to keep up man but getting there slowly

For whatever reason, perhaps it's a lack of interest or preferring to get good shots out of the camera. My head can't get round PS even the basics I find infuriating at times so just give up. I think if I did have an interest and persisted for a while I might get the hang of it but haven't had the need.

Good luck with it, I'm sure it's a very useful tool in the right hands, me, I'll prob just end up drawing a large cock like it was a blackboard back at school. :D

Dan, photoshop is like a bloody sweet shop to a 10 year old. There's more in there than anybody ever needs. I use 10% of it and it still puts food on the table. Knowing your way around the 'image' pull down menu is the most important bit, everything else is whistles and bells really.

Shooting into the sun is always gonna be a bitch, but it is one of the places where you can use HDR for something more than special effects. First of all get a circular polarising filter. You rotate the element until it aligns itself so as to block an entire plane of the light falling into the lens. This'll kill 50% of the flare immediately. If you bracket three or more identical shots, you'll need a tripod for it, at different exposures, starting way under and ending way over, then use the HDR, it should give less blow out.

Not much you can do Dan, do you shoot in RAW? that way you keep all the information and can change exposure etc..

Judging by the quality of your shots MrB, you can live without PS.
