Looking at getting a few gold nuts for the blade.

I Like the gold sprocket set are the aluminium bolts strong enough.

    Thanks

i wouldnt of said so mate, Just had a new sprocket & chain fitted myself and am going for the stainless probolt.

The ali versions are no where near as strong and cant be torque'd up to the same settings , add that to the fact nobody ive spoke to yet recommends the ali stuff especially when it comes to moving parts like sprockets.

    Just my 2p though :)

I've had the ali ones on screens and fairings. The screen was ok but on 2 different bikes a fairing bolt stripped / sheared. Maybe i'm just unlucky tho...

A lot of alloy sprocket bolts have stainless inserts, but I don't know how good they are. I would fit stainless or Ti for lightness and bling!

Quite right Ti nuts and bolts do need some care when fitting and as MW says the Alloy nuts from pro bold do have a helicoil insert but as said they are not done as tight as the OEM or Ti/SS nuts. However I will say I know people who use them on 1000cc bikes with no problem and am sure ProBolt would not sell them if they were not fit for purpose.

I think Bike-It sell Alli nuts with stainless inserts. Probs a lot cheaper than Pro bolt, but no idea of quality!
