Ragged it around the Marsh again. Had a dice with a guy on an MV Agusta, a few brews and another rag around the Marsh. Cracking day in bright, warm sunshine.
Fitted R&G frame sliders yesterday and rebuilt it after a bit of a disassemble to inspect it as I've only had it 3 weeks. Since I've had it it's had a new LH mirror, new flush front indicators, repaired rear indicators, re-wired indicators, tail light and numberplate light, fitted R&G frame sliders, new tail tidy fitted and am awaiting delivery of new handlebar grips. Watch this space for more to come! New tyres next!
Over past fee days stripped the track bike cleaned it learned about it and left the wheels off to take them to powder Coaters tomorrow!
I took the plunge and fitted the venture shield kit to my new fairings, I can honestly say I don't know what all the fuss was about. It all went on quite well, I've got a tiny bit of lint under it in a couple of places but other than that I'm really chuffed with how good a job I did of it. I'd say it probably took around 3 1/2 - 4 hours, but I recon I could do it a fare bit quicker now that I've got the hang of it.
Divided opinion around crash bungs, but I've decided to go for them. Crap weather last night, so no ride out and time on my hands- Into the man cave Never really liked this version of the R&G tail tidy, think it looked even worse when I ditched the standard indicators So grabed a bargin from Villan's (Cheers mate) modified and fitted this too
I keep umming and ahhing over crash bungs. Luckily, I don't need to drill the fairing on mine whatever I do, but my mate is just about to take delivery of a new 4 axis (WTF is the 4th one) lathe and he's determined to make some bespoke ones from something exotic for both our bikes, using his R&G's as templates. I told him about concerns on here regarding making them too stiff to distort in operation so the laser sintered Titanium printer some of his students get to play with has been discounted, but he still has a plan. Most of the media he works with have numbers rather than names so god knows what I might end up with.

Sadly I had to work today, so whilst it was perfect biking weather I had to make do with waking my neighbours at 6 this morning firing the bike up to go to work on it and give it a damn good polish ready for our trip to the IOM this coming Friday Well the bastards don't think of me when they are slamming their car doors at 2am do they Looking good? Thought seeing as I should be down the inspection pit I'd take a picture from down there.
Gave mine a damn good clean after yesterdays ride. Went out for a few hours round East midlands/lincs on soem of my old faithful roads. Best thing was i found some nice little sections i have never been down before, one absolute crackerr, so good i rode it 3 times lol. Heavens then opened up and lashed it down. Put the brain into rain mode and headed home. Silky smooth was the order of the day. Bike was hanging when i got back!
Busy day today for me. Removed exhaust system, coolant hoses and sump, cleaned everything and cut a 0.8mm sump gasket out. Not normally using actual gaskets on the Hondas, but i've had some seepage(!) so i decided to gasket it up properly and hylomar universal blue'd it too just to be sure. Gave all the hoses a nice clean, all the bits you can't get to, the exhaust system and got it all back together. Oil and filter, and distilled water in the cooling system. Job done Sump gasket i mad after gasket sealant failed last week Also had the chance to use my birthday present off my parents, my new hydraulic bike bench. Hands down, the best thing i've ever got for the garage! You look at the bike in a whole different light when the bike is at eye level. Bongo
