First track day booked at Silverstone on the 18th of this month, due to a mate who's not been on many racetracks. I've raced on many tracks (cars) and am not that a serious rider so my enthusiasm is not as great as his, however everyone is saying go for it you'll love it. Apparently Steve Plater is going to be there and no doubt he'll point me in the right direction. Am staying BnB and in the White Horse for beer/food. Have been told it's the new GP circuit we're on, only drawback could be weather, will not be going if it's raining. A bit odd as i'm a good wet weather car racer. If all go's to plan will post the day's pics.
Silverstone is fantastic mate, you will love it and hopefully the wet stuff will stay away, got many hours of racing at the circuit under my belt and that's purely because it's so good and fast. Let us know how it all goes.
Good look, Ive never done a track day myself and Siverstone is not far away, I will keep an eye on how you get on. Do's & Don'ts etc Have fun
I will not be running in the rain as i don't want to throw my bike down the road, if i go i'm using Michelin Power one's A compound on the front and B on the rear. A bit soft and wear quickly but i'm fortunate enough to be able to go that route with rubber, my mate is using Bridgestone 016 Pro's as he needs to get a few more miles than i do.
Hmm i take it you dont ride in the wet on the road then through fear of throwing your bike down the road? The track has a nice grippy surface, no stones, leaves, diesel, deer running out on you or cars pulling out on you for that matter. Dont assume just because its wet you are gonna throw your bike down the road because that will more than likely happen if thats your mindset.
it's not only that slowr1der , i just don't fancy riding up Silverstone getting soaked and doing a track day when i've raced around tracks so many times. It's just going to be have to be dry.
