We lost our male cat Harper yesterday. A neighbour found him at the side of the road in the morning and brought him home. Jo rushed him to the vet but he'd gone. It's been hard for us as we lost our cat Martin a while ago, he was part of our family for 11 years. We got the two Bengal's to fill the gap he left, they were brother and sister. Our two girls aged 4 and 9 are taking it hard, they were with us when when bought them from the breeder, in fact it was them that chose which ones to take home with us. Initially we only wanted one, but after seeing them together we had to have them both. The female is looking very sad Jo tells me, looking for him all the time and calling for him, they were absolutely inseparable. He was 18 months old. RIP Harper, you are missed so much.
So sorry to hear that Dave, part of the family, I'm a big animal lover and I had 2 king Charles cavaliers, lost one 4 years ago and lost the other a year ago, miss them sooooo much, the house isn't the same without them. Many many good memories to carry with me tho.
Ive had a few cats and also had 1 brought back to me after being hit by a car (that didnt stop). Felt aweful for a couple of weeks then had to go and get another 2 to replace her
Dave. Devastated to hear your news. My feelings go out to you Jo and the girls. All the worse with you being away from home as well. Not much of a people person myself and so my cats have always been the superior alternative to human company, so I do sincerely share your feelings. My own Bert is going under the knife today for a procedure, which is always a bit tense as he's getting on a bit and has a dodgy ticker so I'll be thinking about him even more now. Give my best to the girls mate. Ken
Mate that's terrible news he was a very handsome boy, my parents have cats I couldn't for this exact reason. RIP HANDSOME BOY
Thanks guy's your thoughts really matter. Feeling better today, Jo tell's me the sister (Saffie) is really not herself looking and meowing for her brother and not eating very much. Jo might get another kitten to keep saffie company, but I'm in 2 minds, seems wrong to replace him so soon. Our little girls are doing better, but miss him so.
Gutted for you mate. We have two dogs and a cat, they are a real pain at times but wouldn't be without them. Hope the family are ok
You'll never replace him but you could give another lucky cat a loving home for life! When your ready of course!!!
Gutted about the cat Dave, your girls must be real upset, those cats love the girls too.. Amazing how the cats are with them!
