    Hi guys

Well after a bit of deliberating, I ended up buying another bike to do a bit of touring on. I managed to get a 1998 carb model Honda Blackbird with 9k miles on the clock. Rode from Preston all the way home and I've got to say so far so good. Really smooth ride and never had any aches and pains after the blast up the mway.

I'll post some pics tomorrow if anyones interested:eek:

Great choice Colin. Deceptively fast, comfy bike with none of the ugly gangsta rap, yakuza brat bling of a 'busa.

    Nice one.

Pleased it turned out to be what you wanted.
Nothing worse than traveling a distance and it not being as described.
Sorry I couldn't get, fortunately all ends well. :)

Thanks Gary, and cheers for the offer of going to see it for me in the first place. The bike was exactly as described, so very happy with it.

Thanks Ken. I plan on keeping it completely standard other than a MRA vario screen and luggage for trips away.

I think that once I fit the vario screen it will be very easy to do a lot of miles on it.

    Thanks Benn.

You really wouldn't tell it was 15 years old mate. My neighbour asked if it was a private plate that was on it. His jaw dropped when I told him how old it was, and with only 9k miles on it.

Good bikes, I have my XJR for those chill out rides with my girl and long distance, love bikes that you can ride all day and feel like you've been no where..

Exactly my reason for getting it Arthur. The missus has been hankering me to take her a spin on the bike, and also when I talk about the runs we do up to the Isle of Skye she was feeling kinda left out.
My thoughts are that I'd rather buy a bike and do some touring on it, than spend the cash on a holiday for 2 weeks and have nothing to show for it other than soar kidneys.

I agree mate, it's nice to get out with your partner and enjoy biking together, we have some good ride outs with out the hard ship, love the summer nights riding along the sea front with the day times warm air in the night... it's bliss...

The sea front sounds good mate. Not so sure about the warm air though. That's kinda sparse up here other than that coming from my mouth :)
