    What leathers have you got?

I had the intetion of buying something like this eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

But made the mistake of popping to infinity and trying on these Dainese Avro Suit | Dainese Clothing | Infinity Motorcycles

Now a pal of mine (who is a bit of a knob!) says RST leathers are for CHAVS??. I said think your a knob mate!

No dont get me wrong the Dainese leathers were awesome and fitted perfectly but are double the price and you dont get any gloves either!

    Whats everyones opinions?

    Thanks

What boots have you got? I think the Dainese are designed to be worn over the boot so not all boots are compatible (ie i wouldn't be able to wear my Supertech R under them because there just isnt room

As for RST Leathers well i think they are better than they were but i personally have never owned a set

U can get Dainese leathers that fit over or under boots. My Dainese leathers fit under my sidi and alpinestars leathers. Which cost me £700 last year.

Thing I look for it fitment first, looks, quality, feel then price.

I currently have my BKS made to measure, and Dainese leathers.

If money is the issue then leathers is better than nothing. Ones persons chav leathers is another cheap skin saving leathers.

Sod what others think, u just need to be happy with what u buy

edited due to being stupid :)

I am getting a little worried about you Remal

Why would you wear leathers under another set of leathers? Surely that's what your mankini is for

Buy what YOU want not what society says so. try them both on and see which fits and offers the best protection. price is not a factor for me. Leathers are for saving your skin not for looking good.

Says the man with a white arlen ness 1 piece

I've got the dianese ones. Best fitting leathers I ever owned and they go inside my sidi boots. I also recently 'tested' them and they are ok, whereas the cheaper ones I used to buy would have probably come apart on the stitching.

I see your from windsor, I'd take a trip upto Swindon Motorcycle Mega Store (George Whites), they have loads of leathers in there for 30-50% off. Theres a nice Alpinestars one piece for £400 and I picked up a pair of BKS gloves for £50 the other week (almost 2/3 off).

I personally have a (scuffed) Arlen ness that has done it's job once, it is always worth spending the money on safety kit, it's up to you if you want to spend the extra money on the 'top named' kit. In regards to a one or two piece, I think it's a matter of personal choice.

I have a wolf kangaroo set I bought in George white sale last year £300 down from £899 and they are fantastic, most of my gear is wolf now they fit me spot on.

I made the mistake of buying without trying so many times and went through 4-5 sets which did not feel right (mainly of ebay), so as said before try and get the most comfy, best fitting ones you can, who cares what brand they are as long as they fit and work :)

I thinks RST are great leathers and having the ultimate road rash test at silverstone im well impressed that they did nt split open at key points.......maybe im a chav ! but they are better than they used to be and are good value for the money (go for the pro range as they seem better fit and better armour).....will post some pics of my scuffs !

All the above tested around 70mph and they were two days old !!!!!!!!

But at the end of the day off the peg leathers wont suit everyone......and its personal choice but the RST claim of double stiching and armour made the coming off far more enjoyable than i thought !!!! LOL

The more expensive they are the comfortable they are in my experience . a grand normally gets you a real good suit and a small price to pay to prevent skin graft

I crashed in a cheapish leather jacket and ripped the bloody arm off with my first big bike

split all down the seem and if i had slid on that shoulder my skin would have been minced so i always go for the best i can afford now , even if it means putting a few hundred on the master card

I was lucky with my last suit thou

1000 pound suit , Last years design , last 1 in stock , reduced to clear at 300 quid ... Bargain of the year !!

Quit smoking now and gained 3 stone so iv not long sold it on Ebay for the same price lol

Saving for an Alpinestars MX1 now but after surgery coz ill be 2 inches taller ha ha
