I must be gay as have them on the 929, it's used all year including for commuting. They make the differance chosing between the car and bike when the weathers shit. I should man up and chose the car instead next time like real men do
Yup, into the 2nd year with my R&G's and they've not let me dow. Easy to wire up and heat up relatively quick and aren't too noticable either. Ride the bike all year round and they are great for those cold winter mornings, or even horrid wet summer days. With warm and dry hands, I find it's one less thing for me to think/worry about when riding.
i have put them on my blade as i ride quite late into the year and cant get on with the thick gloves that i have bought as clutch control goes right out of the window. i fit the r&g ones with a relay and they have been sound. my mates called me gay but soon changed their minds after getting into the north yorkshire hills and whining about how bloody cold their pinkies were, they all have them fitted now ,so we can all be gay together. i notice that the first post was from someone in suffolk. WINTER IN SUFFOLK IS ABOUT AS COLD AS BARBADOS half an inch of snow darn sarf and they close heathrow airport, they just put a snowplough on the front of the planes at leeds / bradford.
For the first time in my life I got heated grips on a bike and I love them ! The best are the oxford heated sports grips and I don't think you get good grips for £36. I am riding all year long , so let's have a long ride when it's real cold and we will see who is gay and who not........
bought the r&g grips for £36 because they were given a ride magazine best buy a couple of months ago.
My son bought the Daytona grips which were highly recommended from his Yamaha dealer. The grips are crap. You got only two positions, warm (not really ) and very hot ( you can not touch them ). So we removed them and he got the Oxford ports as well. Maybe you will have more luck with the r & g !
not sure on sports bikes but loved them when i fitted them to my Speed triple. made riding so much better when cold. almost any weather you just need thin summer gloves. I have still got mine and may fit them to the blade. but as most of my riding is when it's warmer i'm still unsure about fitting them
Bit late with this thread but here we go anyway! I had a set on my old 929 and they were great, the envy of my mates when it's cold, they certainly work!
