Managed to fit the MRA Vario Screen, Oxford heated grips, headlight protector, and balanced the carbs today, with some help from a friend.

Got to admit the MRA vario screen really is built well, though the fit isn't exactly to oem standards. The panel gaps are slightly bigger but apart from that I'm well chuffed.

Just need to get some descent weather then I'm off for a couple of days on the Dark Destroyer. Can't help but get that music from Apocolipse Now going every time I ride it :)

Thanks mate. It was after your recommendation that I actually had a look for one in the first place. Glad I did now.

Nice to see someone else join the Blackbird fold :D I am on my 4th and still love them.

If you really want to enhance the handling (not that it is that bad in standard spec) and if you can afford it, upgrade the rear shock to an Ohlins. What a difference it makes, and it can be rebuilt when it starts to get a bit soggy 100,000 miles down the line ;)

I have done over 100,000 miles on all of mine from new, and they actually got better the more miles they had on the clock. My first Bird, a 97 I brought new, sold it at 145,000 miles and it is still going strong with apparently over 300,000 miles on the original engine.

    Enjoy your pride and joy

Sounds like there's a few more miles left in mine yet then. I've heard of them easily doing 100k miles before, that leaves me with another 91k miles to churn through :)

I agree Ken - with this type of Busa.
However - I think mine was understated with minor mods.
Handled really well, went like the wind and sounded awesome....
And look, almost in Repsol colours!

I hear what you are saying gents.
In comparison to the Blade it is ugly!
But as a bike for two up and solo fast riding it was awesome.
They really do handle well too.

Here is a photo of a Busa with a GSXR rear end grafted on - looks much better IMO (ignoring the rest of it)

OK I know I am weird (no comments please :p) but I love the rear of a busa, it is so different, I also love the old gixers shape.

Anyway, who cares what it looks like when you are going twos up ;)

Look, I'm not saying anymore on this thread, as I'm quite fond of Steve and I've already upset Billy, and every time they post a picture I end up biting my knuckle. So schtumm from now on.

Has that white one got brass taps fitted on it?

You say what you like Kpone, you aint upset me yet mate! I've no doubt that some people may disagree if i posted what i thought of the new Z1000. EG. If you have a severely cosmetcally challenged bike, just stick a For Sale sign on it and park it next to a Z1000, it'll sell in minutes!
