As the title says, does anyone know why my tail piece is wonky?

I've had the tail faring off & on to try to straighten it up with no joy.

I've never had the subframe off & all the bolts line up with their relevant slots for the tail fairing so my thinking is it can't be the subframe?

Anyone had this before or have an answer to my problem?

Are you sure it's not just the exhaust thats wonky?

Put bike on a paddock stand on level ground. Check distance from ground to each side of tailpiece and subframe. Could just be the zorst?

Thought it was more likely to be the tail fairing as I've never touched the exhaust from new.

I'll give your technical measuring a go megawatt, probably been like it from new & I've only noticed when I took some pics for someone on here :)

Ok, I think I've worked out what I did wrong.

The last time I put the tail unit on I don't think I located it properly.

There are two little lugs at the back of the tail which the bolts that hold the rear light on locate into (if that makes sense), well I obviously located one & sat the tail on top of the other. A lot of fiddling & head scratching later & I think I've finally had the Eureka moment (after taking off the right footpeg & loosening off the exhaust clamps).

Thanks to everyone for the quick & helpful advice though.

That looks great now Ray. Do you take a regular pillion, coz if you don't I'd lose the rear footrest brackets. ???

No I don't take a regular pillion mate & I was thinking of junking them, just trying to work out what to do with the rear brake reservoir though.

Have a think about a bracket mate, possibly one that will hide the M8 footrest bracket boltholes as well? A close up of the bracket/reservoir area would be handy?:D

I like the look of the G-craft reservoirs that hide behind the heel plate, but £100 is a bit rich for my blood.

What about a bracket for your standard reservoir?

LOL, that's why I was saying the G-craft one is a bit rich for my blood mate.

Is it ok if I get the pics for you either tomorrow or Friday, it's just I'm not able to get to the bike before then?

    Hey megawatt,

Shows how much notice I take of the bike lol.

Just need to buy some black rubber/plastic caps for the bolt heads now.
