Hi all, just received my insurance reminder and decided to "come clean" about a few mods I may have ie PCV and R77.Premiums have now doubled to £650 fully comp instead of just over £300 without the mods. The question is can anyone recommend a company that doesnt load the premiums too much for something that looks cosmetically better (exhaust) and makes it run better (PCV). Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated, along with names of sympathetic companys!!

The matter is now resolved paid £530 all declared with MCE inc breakdown legal cover etc etc.H and R came a close second at £503 but without breakdown etc. Thanks for all the help and advice it was very much appreciated!

Also try The Policy Shop, they charged me about £240-00 last year and no worries with mods.

I don't do protected no claims, had a mate got his tranny pick up stolen. Premium was £1000 but when he tried to re-insure it had jumped to £2000. They got round it by telling him the premium had gone up but he still had his full no claims discount !

Hi Jamie, would I be correct in thinking that you live in a rural area.I have tried MCE and they graciously said they could do it for £650 which to be honest is one of the better quotes.Carole Nash wanted £950 or £650 without mods, and they never used to load for cans, powercommanders etc!I went to insure a 3.2 Porsche Boxster worth £20k the other week and that was only £375 fully comp, where did I go wrong!!At this rate there may be a mint RRA up for grabs shortly.

Just insured the 2012 with Hastings (Zenith). 39 - 4 years NCB - Garaged £480. No loading for exhaust mod (road legal of course) unless over £500 in which case it's 10% of the premium.

Worst quote was Honda, £1028 !

I renewed in march with motorcycle direct.. 2011 blade all mods declared 40 year old 9 years ncb fully comp 500 excess for £162 but do live in Cornwall. Was still the cheapest quote by a long way and surprised they didn't sting me for the mods.

With Bennets mine has gone up from £320 to £370 this month.
Didn't get a chance to shop around as I was too busy.
Peed off as I was only paying £320 back in 2008 on a brand new £26,000 Ducati 1098R!!!
