Hello all I have a CBR1000RR RR5 My LED indicators flash way too quickly so I intend on replacing the Indicator flasher relay. Can anyone confirm the exact location of the relay I am to replace? I have heard it is either between the headlights? Or the behind the left fairing? Any recommendations on where I can get the replacement relay for the LED's Cheers
On my 06 its behind the left hand fairing................operate the indicators and listen for the relay clicking, put your ear to the fairing.
I have an 07 model with LED's all round and I'm pretty sure the relay I bought was a four pin model. The relay's are not cheap. I think this is one I bought: Acumen Electronics Late Honda Wide-Range Relay 4 LED - 66005
I've just taken the left fairing off to find fuses and other components But no relays to be see there. I also operated the indicators to see if I could hear the relay clicking. Nothing. Found this Ronayers.com Microfiche Honda>Motorcycle>2005>CBR1000RR>WIRE HARNESS Number 13.....?
Hi mate, on my 07 Model the relay was behind the nosecone below the clocks. It's a bugger to get to. Not sure about your model but it may be in the same place.
Cheers It looks like its in the nose cone. Bugger Tried taking it off last night. Got to the stage where I had the nose off but still couldn't get in there. Looks like I may have to remove a light unit!! Its a nightmare to get to
Consulting my trusty Haynes manual, it tells me: Turn Signal Circuit Check To check the relay, on RR-4 and RR-5 models remove the headlight (See Section 8) - the relay is located between the two lenses at the front. Support the headlight next to the front of the bike on the left-hand side and reconnect the front sub-loom wiring connector. On RR-6 and RR-7 models remove the left-hand fairing side panel (See Chapter 7) - the relay is clipped to the inner fairing panel.
Tis behind the light cluster mate on the RR5, need to take the lean angle sensor off too................................proper b'stard!! They changed it on the RR6 FFS!
No probs with the sensor mate, two bolts, the dash is connected by a multi wire connector, s/b down at the right hand side of the front fairing ( sat on the bike, looking forward). Take your time as its a push connector. I managed it and I'm no spanner monkey
Got round to locating my flasher relay today. Right between the headlights Bit of a Ball ache to get to but it's a plug and play 2 pin on my bike. Works a treat.
