the pains i had came and went for several months, had xrays, ultrasound scans, blood and urine tests. everything came up clear.

the pains which were sometimes weeks apart were hellish, started in my lower back then spread round to my abdomen, swiftly followed by vomiting. its hard to spew curled up in a ball on the floor.
thankfully never happened when is was out on the bike, it was actually the night after a very long run to oban that i passed the stone so i credit the blade with curing me, never been so relieved.

My dad's had two bouts of kidney stones and as he's in his mid 70's itf ucks him up big time. The last one was about six months ago and he got took into hospital and nothing they did would relieve his pain. In the end the nurse gave him this tablet that I swear looked like a bloody suppository, glossy black and about an inch long. 20 minutes later, Niagra falls. He couldn't stop pissing and they had a conveyor belt of piss bottles going to him. It passed the bastards though.

Bloody hell Matt, I've had the same symptoms on two occasions and never thought they could have been a UTI, I just put them down to the tree I hit at the end of the Mamhead straight and the kicking I got outside the "The Three Horseshoes".

    You live and learn eh.

The trick is to tell him you had 10 pints of Guinness and a Chicken Vindaloo the night before. Then I guarantee he'll be a lot more careful when he fists you.
