Just want to add my new integrated rear light with flashes is stamped E11, which means it has been tested in the UK and has passed for legality as far as I can work out ?? now confused, any one, with more insight than me care to expand on this for me :)

I did post up about these and the legal side of them a while back..... :)

First just coz it passes an MOT does not mean its legal for use on the road.

The Euro3 laws state to manufactures that they need to be a min of 240mm apart and flash at a given rate, but in short anything other than what was sold on the bike as OEM is technically not legal....well there abouts... The Police can pick holes in anything thats not stock! Ive got one on my Z1000 and the very nice Police man and me had a good old chat about Euro laws etc... What a nice man his was too :)

As the OEM light does not flash I would say NO, it could be deemed as a fault (as UK stop lamps should be constant) and I think if you were to read the small print of the MOT data it should say constant light so it should fail! However if it does not list "flashing" warning again you could be had up on thats not standard equipment gag..

Leo, have a look at this link mate. I had one of these on my 07 Blade and looks ace. It gives the impression that the number plate is floating. It is just a big jubilee clip with card to protect the exhaust and a small bracket. You will have to get it sent over from the States but this is not an issue.

Here is what it looked like on my 07 Repsol

No I never did get pulled with the plate so must have been lucky. I run with a 7 x 5" these days which does not seem to attract any interest at all.

That plate's also in an "illegal" position, as it should be at the rearmost point of the bike.
