Hi, i've got a few questions on the akrapovic exhausts for the 08-12's that i'm sure someone on here will know the answers too.

I know they sell the road legal version with the flap and the cat, and then the non legal version without the cat etc.

Q - Does the non-cat link pipe accept the o2 sensor?
Q - Are the silencers interchangeable? in other words can a silencer from the non-cat version be mated to a link pipe that has the cat?
Q - Are the link pipes all titanium, and can they be cleaned up if they start to get tarnished?
Q - Does one perform better than the other?

    Thanks in advance guys

    1. Yes
    2. Yes
    3. Stainless steel and yes they can be cleaned up, polished etc
    4. De-cat link pipe will be slightly better due to increased flow, but not by a lot :)

I have the de-cat pipe and I love it it comes with a road legal baffle and has not attracted the wrong sort of attention, it was also supplied by the honda dealer, who said there would be no problems with MOT even though the can is stamped not for road use.

Thanks Rob but not right now. I have been watching on ebay recently though and you'll fetch good money. last few have gone for anywhere between £410 and £550

Hi Jamie, something I subsequently thought of after your reply above......if your can is stamped "not for road use" but you stuck it on a link pipe with a cat in it, surely that would make it as road legal as the £980 pipe honda advises is road legal wouldn't it. There is nothing about the actual silencer part that makes it not for road use is there?

Will be interesting to see what your friendly MOT tester says next year as I think the stamping is pretty clear isn't it. I've not met a bike tester yet who''s had an issue with any of my pipes but then they've either not had the markings or they've just been stickers.
