... with bikes this year other than speeding?

I mean a few have been picked up on small plates

Could any of the helpful BIB on here give us a hint to what we must look at on our bikes/riding so we stay within the law;)

May it be noisy can's? Plates? etc....

On this subject, i was driving to Swindon the other day & if i could have got a picture of it you would have pissed yourself laughing . Harley davidson bike , stereotypical rider on it with cut off denim jacket with his patch on theback. ` HOG` number plate, & on each shoulder he had 2 massive horns sticking up, a silver handsprayed helmet with 2 horns sticking out of it, massive gauntlet styled gloves that were hand sprayed silver that looked like armour, whilst following him he looked like he was struggling with something but i couldn`t work out why, i did actually think he might have been having a fit as his leg was shaking & he kept looking down, but as we drove past i realised why , he had a full face rubber ape mask on that must have been obscuring his vision everytime he accelerated!

Or the bicycle equivalent of squids who believe that a knee jerk, governmentally endorsed reaction to environmentally responsible urban transport means that an hilariously thin layer of Lycra will render them immune to being run over by a juggernaut during random and aggressive lane changes without any acknowledgment of other road users.

Personally, I enjoy seeing all of the above out there, tentatively rolling the dice each day as I am a fervent subscriber to the Darwin Award system.

You obviously don`t understand the abrasion resistance from lycra Ken, i think you will find it is on par with Andrex.

I was at a local bike stop when a rather nice blade left at speed on one wheel, impressive that it was its riders like that that make the authorities focus on bikers generally?
Or am I jealous because I can't do it?

What pisses me off about mr hog.... I saw loads in Scotland with TINY (no not c@cks) number plates... Not only that they were usually done in the old fashioned totally illegal black format.

Some of ours are usually just under the right size, but totally readable... But they only seem to tug us on them?

Oh and t&b - the gorilla mask made me actually lol

I was actually expecting to hear on a traffic report that some agricultural machinery was embedded in the central reservation and that a lane was blocked....:D

was thinking more about how the members who are BIB may be able to point the members int he direction that will result in not getting pulled.

yes agree there are lots of dicks out there on bikes but also in cars.

I have a slightly smaller plate and the baffles fell out of my can but other than that I try to make sure I don't annoy the BIB for too many reasons

I think that the tractor drivers are pitied and therefore forgiven their transgressions whereas the sports bike rider (that is if the old farts in my village are anything to go by) are reviled by all and considered to be flaunting all laws of traffic and common decency. Even if they're parked up outside the local shop and not actually moving. They are guilty of taking up space that the ubiquitously mud free 4x4 requires while stopping on the 400 yard school run to pick up fags, newspapers etc. being too loud. Colour that is, remember the engine isn't running at this point. Going too fast through the village. ( see last sentence), and of probably having a pilot who....dresses in leather, which around here is a heinous crime when balanced beside incest and bestiality.

Oh, I've turned Matts question into a rant.......

I guess it will be the usual suspects.

    Speeding.

Non displaying of a tax disc or in an inappropriate position.

    Illegal Cans.

    Anti social behaviour.

Crossing a solid White line. That's always a favourite.

I believe they had a little go at the Knottend bike meet the other week. One of our engineers local to the area said the helicopter was up covering Glasson to Knott end and Knott end to Shard Bridge? they were stopping the bikes as they went in to the village to show the guys images of their "errors" and I suspect to give out certificates to commend them on their riding skills

1 I am aware that the tax disc needs to be in front of the rider. I have mine openly displayed BUT it is connected to my tail tidy. Hope they don't get to funny about something as simple as that

    2) they are becoming much more wildly used. I only say this as when I was over wales they have added miles of them on one of my fav roads. more than enought space to over take 2 cars but they put solid while lines which means your stuck behind slow moving cars for miles instead of enjoy a lovely road.

We we're parked up in Hastings grabbing something to eat Friday night and this police car must have drove past slowly looking at the bikes three or four times. As we we're leaving I said to my pals "we're going to get pulled" they all dismissed the suggestion.

As we were riding out of Hastings on the A21 I noticed a car behind, going at quite a pace, but couldn't tell if it was a police car or not. Pulled in the garage for fuel, sure enough it was the fuzz. Officer came over to me, some words of wisdom about some of the speeds we were doing, explained he was himself a biker and that there were numerous colleagues out looking for bikes on the 21. Wished me a nice ride, jumped in his car and went.

Not a single word about my plate, the integrated tail light or the fact I have no tax displayed. Touch

Its a fact motorists are being used as road blocks, by lowering the speed limits and marking roads with little opportunity of overtaking everything comes nicely to a grinding halt. There you go. Road safety sorted?
    I don't think so.

After a pleasant drive yesterday I got stuck for about 5 miles behind a digger, doing 30, flat out with no break in the double whites to legally remove the blight ahead of me. Hanging off the back of this thing was something from a transformers movie that looked like it wanted to kill me just by being behind it. No red flag or any warning to people with depth perception issues as to just how far back this thing was protruding. Despite many, many opportunities to do so, this geezer showed no desire to pull into a layby or bus stop to ease the flow, and he was carrying a passenger in the cab, a single seat cab.

I'll bet he does the route every day and I'll bet he's never seen a traffic car.

Another tractor rant, but until any vehicle that cannot manage the national speed limit is removed from the roads by law I'm gonna keep having them.

I know where your coming from Ken. Thought JCB were classed as plant? Therefore they can only travel a certain distance on public high ways other than that should be transported by low loader?

Yeah well mate that, sort of brings me back to square one doesn't it. Paranoia or not, there seems to be a distinct pecking order when it comes to what is and what isn't considered adhering to the spirit of the law.

Maybe start putting race cans on them and small number plates. Might get noticed a little more often.

Still no answer to Remals question from any Police on the forum. My view is if you have a small plate then you are fair game for other issues .Having just put the £60.00 cheque in the post today for said item .To be honest i think the general traffic cop on the road has a bit of give and take and sometimes are not to fussed on cans and the like. I have put on the normal plate and the mither of hiding behind cop cars on the motorway or moaning every time i pass one and think they are following is not worth it plus they don't get there greedy hands on any more money.Keep it down in villages /Put the baffle in ffs/ and enjoy your ride.
