I have this and find it pretty accurate. Gets it wrong now and again but usually spot on. WeatherPro: WeatherPro powered by MeteoGroup - Home
Clear sky and sunny up in the Fens this morning, but bloody cold when I went out to feed the chooks. Quick shower, get leathered up, and heading south to meet my mate with the carbon blinged 1098 in St Paul's Square Bedford, then riding together over for b'fast at Silverstone, at which point he will head south back to London and I will either go back home or if my kids can be bothered to answer the mobile phones up to Sutton Coldfield to see them. Either way it will be good to get out on the blade again.
Bit of an update on yesterday, plus some comments to Remal's request for info on what the BIB are looking for. Great ride down to Bedford. Bit cold but. Had the normal (for me) five minute colley wobble thinking is this my last ride, will I get home safe, will some pull out on me, will I misjudge a bend. All the usual thought process when life preservation and dangerous hobbies mix. Thoughts pasted and started to enjoy myself once engine and tyres had warmed up. Run down to Bedford was quick and uneventful. By the time I got there the weather had warmed up and Darrek had just arrived, ordered the coffee’s and was sitting sunning himself. Bike parked in the centre of the square by the café. I pulled in next to his 1098. Whilst we chatted for a while two beat bobbies wandered past and stopped to look at the bikes. He we go said Darrek. They stood talking looking at the bikes then wandered over, much to the amusement of other people sitting out side the café. “Morning Boys, who’s is the Ducati?” then asked a few questions about the open clutch cover. No mention his tiny and I, mean tiny cherished number plate which cant be more than 2”x 6”, nor my 8"x 6". We talked bikes for a few minutes then they bid us good day and ride safe etc. no comment about the children with bleeding ears from Darreks race cans when he pulled up. We left it a few minutes but when we left we passed same two coppers, who waved as we went passed. His race cans and my non baffle akra booming as we went passed. Very fast ride over to Silverstone with the 1098 leaving me trailing behind, not that his bike is that much faster then mine but more that he seemed to have left his brain at home, and I didn’t feel like trying to hang onto his tail. I only ride at a rate that I feel comfortable with and don’t care who has the biggest dick. B’fast at Silverstone at the members club and watched a bit of the racing. Left about an hour or so later. He peeled off back towards London and I headed north up round Northampton and east to the A14 and back home mid afternoon. Washed the bike down, quick polish then spent the next hour getting the dead flies and bugs off my leathers and helmet. Roll on the next sunny weekend and his turn to pay for breakfast. Oh and yes, the kids didn’t bother to answer their phones, little gits.
Sounds like a pleasant day David. It was travel brochure weather here both days over the weekend but events conspired against me to the point of my total ride time consisted of 30 feet out of the garage for a quick pre MOT walk around before the phone started ringing and the best laid plans etc. etc. Started getting a bit chilly late afternoon but by then I was already asleep infront of the superbikes. Saturday morning was glorious though. My mate and old rallying buddy has just launched his own race and sports car specialist garage and had an open day. BBQ and bacon baps flowed like water and the sounds of 20 plus TVR's showing off on the forecourt was wonderful. Then a blat home down the virtually abandoned A38 with the roof off, wishing I'd taken a hat or at least not buzz cut my hair before I left.
Nice one. Sounds like Saturday was a good day then Ken can’t beat a good BBQ in the sunshine and with the sound of tuned engines even better. Either L or I cut my hair with the strimmer on a no 2 blade since the top thatching has gone a bit thin. Even that short L still says I look like that guy from the Prodigy after I take my helmet off and it’s shaped like the inside off the helmet padding. I am a fire starter, twisted Shoei fire starter is the normal sing song. I am planning to cut it on a no 1 Thursday night as eye laser on Friday and can’t wash my hair for a week, yuk. At least if it’s really short I can wipe the ol dome over with a flannel.
Yep Saturday morning was pretty good. The weekend only kerploded afterwards. Gonna need plenty of updates of the surgery but store them up as I'm away all next week and don't want to miss the chance of enjoying someone else's misery. Yes my hair is like wire when it's only 6mm long. Makes taking my helmet off much harder work.
When I said they are only scary when they are hairy I was referring to lady's bits! I had enough problems at work a few years ago when over night I went from "normal" to a No 2 all over, can you imagine what the board would say if I turned up with a 0, now you mention it, could be interesting to see the look on their faces come next Monday’s management meeting, assuming of course that I can see anything at all. Gulp.
No, do it, then stick on one of those fake, joke shop scars. Just over the frontal lobe. Then just let a trickle of drool run out of one corner of your mouth. With any luck, your boss will think you've been promoted above him.
I don’t need the fake scars I already have one on the side of my noggin gained during my miss spent youth, or rather some on other miss spent youth with a knuckle duster and scars on my nose from an interesting discussion with a Newcastle United fan’s fist at Villa Park. I don’t even need the blood either as I normally start to foam at the mouth anyway during our "monthly" Apt name for the meeting. My ex wife was also a nightmare when she had her monthly. Ling says I am beautiful though. Having said that, she has also booked to have her eyes lasered in July.
The weather really needs to sort it's life out before Friday. I'm off for a 4 day weekend on the N.Yorks moors on the bike with a few mates. It's either going to be a top weekend on the bikes, or a very hetro spa weekend. Today's weather was wild: Up at 5:45am & off to the gym - glorious clear blue skies Leave the gym at 8am - raining cats & dogs By lunch time it was patch sun & cloud 3pm hail storm 5pm warm & dry Seriously?
Judging by the daily mail today, there is a winter weather front lasting until mid June in the UK, due to low pressure etc... and temps will be below freezing in some areas due to wind chill, and even snow in some areas. For fucks sake.
Yeah, i know...it sucks mate. I fookin hate the cold weather, the wind and rain on top makes me feel terrible. SAD you see.
Picked up the bike from MOT tonight in glorious sunshine. Pootled into town for my duty hospital visit in glorious sunshine. Blagged free parking off one of the security guards as their system of tickets don't account for bikes. Came back out still in glorious sunshine. Jumped back on the bike and, sort of, forgot to go home...
