Really even if you are just replace with a newer version of what is there already?

I can understand iff you are putting up new lights that were not there in the first place and even more so in the work place. as these lights will be plugged in as the last ones.

surely a leccy is is not required?

To follow the letter of the law, you should have part p minimum and complete a minor works form. But if I were you I would do it myself. Its just to stop retards like the guy I saw who had a cable break and tried to twist all there ends from each cable together before switching on!

a replacement light for light does nt require anything unless you alter the exsiting circuit or wire a new one..... providing all is ok with existing wiring.....which if i hedge a bet i doubt the garage (stand alone) complies to regs.... (seperate earthing via spike if remote from main buildiing).....???

Yup do it yourself then theres no one else to blame........!! lol

I doubt it mate. Electrocution means death by electricity. I know you've been unwell, but...

I'm an Electrical Engineer, but had to get someone in to second fix (or get the council to pass my work)on my extension. I came home one day and the house stank of weed, the next time I caught him drilling through the wall with a chisel point!!!

I still had to fix the problems with pulsing across the L and N on the LED's after he had given up. I think he thought EMF was band from the Nineties
