If its an 08 _ 11 Blade don't both as you can't sync the throttle bodies manually but it is done automatically via the ecu so will be fine unless the sensor has backed in.
Without going into the obvious benefits of a numb hand. I have the same issue on my 2011 that I posted about last year. It doesn’t take long to set in either, vibes also through foot pegs. Dealer checked it out and said nothing loose or wrong with the bike, just stated that blades are like it. I just put it down to me getting older and poor circulation. Over the winter I have brought some soft Renthals as suggested by Dan and R&G bar end sliders which I hope will help. I will let you know when I finally get off my arse and fit them and the sun comes out to play. The other thing I was thinking about is one of those touring throttle thumb plates thingy’s so you can loosen your grip to a minimum. Any one tried them?
I know this is an old thread, but I am hoping to learn more about this. I have often seen the benefit of syncing carbs & TBs' & normally check it every 6-months or so. Where does it say they can't be checked manually, or where does it explain that the ecu takes care of it; can't see it in the manual? I'm not doubting the statement that it can't be done, just want to understand more.
I briefly tried bar raisers last year and to be fair the help a little but they were not for me. Once up to speed there’s not too much of a problem but in town I struggle so I fitted Stomp Grips which do help at slow speed?
Sorry Boys I forgot to update this. The soft Renthals are much much more comfortable than the standard grips and the R&G bar end sliders have helped the vibes but right hand still goes dead after a while.
Home - www.throttlemate.co.uk Just ordered 3 of these (for me and 2 mates) for a BMW trip to Germany in July. Looks simple enough and you could just use it for a quick bit of hand relief!
I have helibars (which I like very much), but I can still feel a little vibe. I will look further into TB sync & engine mounts but its not that bad that its bothersome; maybe just a querk of the bike.
I have never ridden a bike in the last 15 ish years that hasnt made my fingers go numb and just lately my toes. I have ridden alot of diffrent bikes superduke/street triple/R1/gsxr 750/fz1/speed triple/countless trackbikes and now the blade and have all given some sort of numbness, i put it down to my job 25 yrs in the building trade using vibrating tools etc think its called white finger? There is a small operation that can be done on the main nerve in the hand but at the mo dont want to go down that route.
Had my 2010 blade for a few weeks now, and have also been getting a numb right hand. Never had it from any other bike before, it's a strange one, as I've ridden bikes with much harsher riding positions. Got some Tech Spec tank grips to fit, see if that helps. Although I can't complain to much, the bike is mega! If I wanted to be 100% comfy on a bike I would of bought a tourer or something equally drab. For me the pro's of riding sports bikes outweigh the con's, for now and probably a few years yet.
Same here but a 2011 hrc, love the bike to bits 1st bike i have had for a few years that i am thinking i dont want to change for a few years, love it so a numb hand and a few toes i will have to put up with it, i have swung so many times from a sportsbike to an upright bike i.e superduke R/street triple/speed triple/fz1 and the pull of a sportsbike gets me everytime nothing like a sportsbike in the garage when you open the door, not the same smile factor when its an upright bike.
My mate fitted stomp grip as we heard that it helps take a bit of pressure of your arms when braking he says it helped loads with arm pump and numb hands etc when riding
I was thinking of getting stomp grips for my 954 blade, i don't get any issue ref vibrations but it would be nice to take some of the weight of my wrists etc.
What colour is it Hudson. Mine's white and I saw one with stomp grip the other week and it stood out a mile where the edges were a bit grubby. Put me off the idea TBH.
If they are put on correctly and kept clean they are fine black on a black bike, I can appreciate clear on white may not look good?
