Hi Peter , I have had the same fork conversion as you , but mine seem a bit harsh over cats eyes , very planted though , would you mine telling me what setting you have got , rebound , compression , mine is set at the min Comp 1 turn out from full hard , rebound 2.5 turns out from full hard. I weigh about 13 stone with all the gear on , have got .95 springs in. Cheers and Thanks Bobmg
So Peter is it a ride in ride out service or did you have to strip the forks out and take them in loose?
Bob, i also have 9.5 nm springs and this is what settings i use. preload is set at 26mm that is me sitting on bike with gear on roughly about 8-9 turns on preload bolts. Compression is 11 clicks out from fully clockwise. Rebound is 1.5 turns out. This gives a good road setting which is more suited to comfort. I hope this gives you a idea, also make sure that when you set the front sag see if the bike is tilting forwards, if so the set rear sag otherwise you end up with too much weight over the front end.
Hi Peter when you say clicks for the bottom compression valves , do you mean 11 quarter turns ( Mine does not have clicks on bottom valves) a click is normally = to a quarter turn , so therefore it would 2.75 turns out from full hard . Thanks for the settings will try them out next week and let you know Cheers Bob
Hi Peter , they advised me that i would not need them changing as it does not make much difference for road riding
That explains why mine are set at so many clicks!! I decided that i might aswell have them done while i had the internal valving put in. The k-tec versions allow much finer compression values than the standard needle which has a much finer taper .
