OK I'm loving my matt black Shark lid. it looks good and fits well but over the weekend I found 2 things I don't like about it; Due to being black gets very HOT! and it's not that vented. So thinking if I was looking at another lid int he next year, What can people suggest is very well vented. Yes I am aware fitment is the most important thing for a lid. So if I get some suggestions on good vented lids I can try some on over the Summer and see what I may get later in the year. I may be thinking of getting ACE OF SPRAYS to paint it. As of yet I have no idea what design but not black. So not looking for any fancy race rep colours, just a a well vented lid I can use for the Hot days we get or touring So thoughts???
My Shoei is good with all vents open, lower front, two top front and two rear vents and internal padding stripes that allow the air to circulate. It also helps being white, cant remember the model for sure, Quest, I think, it was the best fit at the time and I wanted the slots for glasses which I no longer need.
I'm sure I read that "black absorbs heat and white reflects it" thing isn't quite as simple as that. Has a lot to do with type of material and proximity to skin etc.
Well yes as I posted in my first post. but as it does not have very good vents having a lid that shifts more air though it would help as well as having a lighter lid or even better Silver lid
After much deliberation an review reading i went for the AGV GP Tech, had it a month now an over the moon with it, very plush. It's full black but with all the exhaust vents and aerodynamic shape it drags warm air out. Went out for a full day last Monday in scorching sunshine an it was brill, very cool an very very light. Rossi designed it so it can't be bad
