OK only just glanced at the owners manual but Says in the owners manual "running in" be careful for the first 300 miles. but i'm yet to come across anything like triumph had for running in a new bike - less than x ravs for first 100 miles etc... and when to have the first service? 600 miles?
Understand but only on area that sort of says first service t 0.6 of 1000k S first service at 600 miles ?
Take it easy ish but not to soft either as that can be just as bad especially if sat say on the motorway at set revs for miles and miles etc. Try and vary it giving it a reasonable work out without thrashing it at high revs to much. You will read lots of varying opinions on running in engines and even Honda are a bit vague. The salesman just told me to take it easy and keeps revs lower for a while. I tried to take it on 50 mile round trips on twisty roads with varying revs below 7k ish but did go over the odd time, the engine did feel tight especially coming of the throttle. Feels alot better now just coming upto 500 miles so I will be booking it in for first service ASAP. Will be happier knowing its got some fresh oil in the motor, god nows how many tiny bits are in there after running in.
Done another 100 miles today. As said kept the revs low ut had fun. Hop to get another 100 done on sun
Nice weather today, spring is in the air! How are you finding the Blade compared to the Triple Remal?
Remember running mine in, didnt take too long at all and its a good chance as a new owner to get used to the bike, handling etc.
Agree with this ^ Also, try not to labour the engine by making it pull too high a gear. I think Honda engines are run in at the factory anyway though.
I loved my speed triple but after a few miles yesterday the brakes are better, engine pulls well from low revs which I did think I would loose after the triple. Loving the blade
