quote from my local bike shop.....

    Lorenzo stays with Yamaha!

Jorge Lorenzo has signed a new contract to stay with Yamaha in MotoGP for the 2013 and 2014 seasons, here is what Jorge had to say:-

“I am extremely happy to have signed with Yamaha for two more years. They’ve made great efforts to retain me in the factory team so I want to thank all those involved at Yamaha for this. I’ve been treated like part of the Yamaha family since 2008 and I love working with them. It has always been my first option to stay here and so I’m happy that this important negotiation has finished with such a positive outcome. Now I can focus on the Championship and I’m looking forward to paying back Yamaha’s trust in me starting at Silverstone this weekend. I look forward to winning many more Championships together; my dream to finish my career with Yamaha is now closer to becoming a reality!”

This is great news for Yamaha, I wonder what Honda are going to do now....

Reckon Honda will do one of two things, depending on whether the Rookie rule gets quashed for next year (as mooted) - if it is quashed then Marquez takes Stoner's seat directly; if not, then I reckon they'll put Marquez in a new team with a factory bike (a la SuperSic) and tap Bradl up for Stoner's seat, and then work on how to get Marquez in the following year either by running 3 bikes or see if Dani retires or moves on.

Would be nice for Cal to get the nod ahead of Bradl, but can't see it.

I think they should scrap the rookie rule and get Guy Martin in - he would make that Honda go fast Boss!

Rumour has it that Guy Martin was close to loosing his ride if he didn't podium at the senior on the TT, obviously it didn't happen so he got a break but it's cut throat out there
