After talking to another member about moving to the UK got me thinking. Where have you lived in the past, brought up or were Born

Me I've lived all my life in Bristol. And would find it hard to move away due to close family ties and Friends. But may one day move to Florida when I'm old.

Would be interested to hear about other places people have lived. Why did you move on? Not asking for personal information just what was other places like to live. As just visiting a place for a few weeks never gives you anything more than the tourist view on a place

Born in Ormskirk and lived 3 miles from my birthplace my whole life! I have no desire to move, i love where i live. I love sampling places though and when i rode bmx, travelled the UK to pretty much every city going, and a ton of towns and villages in between. Loved seeing how different or similar other places were and it was great to see how everyone, despite their wealth, or their surroundings or accents etc differed, were all the same!

I found it interesting how peoples senses of humour differed as i travelled. Everyone found funny things funny, but there is definitely more sarcasm in the north!

Exeter born, Exeter bred, strong in the arm, weak in the head, so they say.

In fact, the nursing home I was born in is now a retirement home so there's a chance I could snuff it it the same room I was calved in. It's about 200 yards from where I work. God I hate travelling.

I have never even considered living anywhere other than the fantastic piece of real estate that is Devonshire, although I'm more and more pondering whether England is a place I'd like to grow old and infirm in.

Born in Dubai. 2 yrs old lived in Tazmania, moved to Brazil at age 6, then off to serbia til I was 12. Went on to canada for 6 yrs then flitted to Argentina before having a stint in China. Then found yorkshire.

No, thats utter bollocks. Born in Cumbria, (lived in Seaton) then was uprooted to Huddersfield as a kid. What a shithole. But the girlfriend (half croatian) who has danced all over the world, Japan, paris,Rome, Germany,Sweden...etc cruise ships....thinks ya cant beat the 'colne valley', (part of 'uddersfield).

Born in ballymoney N. Ireland. Served in Bosnia for 12 months, Canada for 12 months, then lived in Canterbury for 2 years, over to Kuwait for 3 months, 5 months in Iraq. Then back to Canada with wife for 12 months. Now I'm stuck back here in ballymoney with bread knife and ankle biter. Current job lets me transfer all over the world so at the moment I'm trying to talk the wife to move back to Canada.

Born and bred from a gifted and some what wasted upbringing in Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield. (Benn will fill you in with the details of how posh Four Oaks is) Married a girl who is half Spanish and spend a few years in Spain before moving back to Four Oaks. Job has taken me all over Europe and Scandinavia and most of the RHD Far East. Now living with a wonderful women (that I plan to marry) that was born in Penang Malaysia from Chinese descent but who I have known for at least ten years (but I might add didn’t get together with till after my divorce) through the job in London. Don’t plan on getting that much older in this god forsaken country. The north coast of Penang is calling. Warmth. Constant sunshine (except when it rains, and shit does it rain in the rainy season) and a much better quality of life.
Just waiting for my kids to be old enough to visit or me or me visit them at least every other month and we are off.

Born in Lincoln, lived near Blandford until I was 6 then moved to Penrith, Cumbria joined the Navy at 16 where I was based in Portsmouth, then Yeovil.

Went to France, Germany, Turkey, Gibraltar, Sierra Leone, Cyprus and Iraq with work but would not say I really got to explore any of them the way I would of liked to :(

Now left the forces and still live in Yeovil with the wife and three boys, would love to move out to Australia in the next 2 -3 years once the market pics up and I can sell my bloody house ! or anywhere else where it is warm and dry with good pay, low living costs and need a technical author/aircraft engineer :)

dont do it , low cost of living who are you kidding its much cheaper to live in the UK than australia . WA and Qld the only states with good weather live in victoria you may well stay where you are its wet cold and fucking horrible 8 moths of the year then stupid hot for 2-3 months shit of a place to live

cheapest place to live is still asia but schooling cost a shit load 10,500 quid a year for my 8 year old daughter it was only 3500 quid in Spain
