Thank you for putting that photo of what I assume was your F2 400/4 in your album. It just made my heart warm with really great memories of when I owned a 1978 F2 in the same colour. Ignoring my current blade and other powerful bikes it was one of my favourite ever bikes, it was not that quick but handled like a dream, not sure how looking at those tyres but it did. Only issue I ever had with it being the lower tank seams on both sides had corrosion and started dripping fuel. It was only a couple of years old so must have been present from new. I had to buy a new fuel tank. Thanks for that fella it’s really made my day. I have a photo of mine with me on it with long hair somewhere if I can find it I will scan it a post for your amusement.
Here here. One of the best bikes I never owned. More like jewellery than transport. I never knew you had hair David...
I love my 400/4 F1. Had a crappy 400T and a 550/4 F2 before it. One of my best ever bikes! Guy I bought it off broke the auto cam chain tensioner, easily done. I fitted a manual tensioner( a M8 Allen bolt ) and the world was my lobster !!!
Must have missed this post??? Just seen it, Yes I loved this bike so much I had a total of 4 all yellow over a period of 30 years, would like just one more, not that long ago (well over 10 years) Fowlers had a new one for sale had never been used I still think about it. Rob.
I heard that David Silver has about 17 of them, they are going to strip and sell some and restore the others to original then sell some of them.
