So Ive fitted a power commander and been fettling with a few maps and the guy who fitted it for me had a map which he had on his own bike so I decided to put in on as it has been running a bit lumpy down low and I said id give it a go! well its still a bit lumpy around town but I took it for a run outa town!! Sweet Mother Of Devine Jesus!!!! The thing would ripp the bloody arms offa ya! such a dramatic change just by mapping it differently!I mean I was looking down saying is this the same bike!I could go as far as saying the thing is too bloody fast for me now!The guy had said he had spent alot of time on the Dyno mapping his bike but!!!!Mad.So if ya want more power PC seems the way foreward!
I have an RR5 with a PC3 and had it dynoed and was genuinely gobsmacked by the results: 166hp at the rear wheel and 88 ft/lbs of torque. Not bad for a 7 year old bike with 16k on the clock!
Nice, once i find a PC i will be going for a custom map..it will be nice to see how much that differs from yours.. Did you put a K&N filter in and had the flapper mod done?
Hi Sam, yes I did put a K&N in and also did the flapper mod. The flapper does seem to smooth things out a bit at lower rpm, but I wouldn'y say it made a massive difference. If you do get a PC, do everything in one go, as I think this is where you will see a difference in the bike. I did all mine bit by bit and so it was a lot of small changes, but having a custom map done on the dyno was the biggest change for sure. Well worth it. Just don't listen to it though, sounds like all hell being unleashed as your bike runs through the full rev range. Let us know what end figures you get. It will interesting to see.
I've done all them mods and fitted an r77 had custom map done and got 169.8 at the wheel. And then started to hear noises I've not noticed before when engine breaking are you aware of the same?
No, I have to say that she runs as sweet as ever. No idea what would be causing the noises, but I dare say that somebody on here may be in the know.
