So i am currently sat at the side of the road in my work van with a foooked clutch. its a vauxhall movano and has been nothing but trouble for the past 3 years but my work wont splash out for a new 1. the liat of bits that has gone wrong is just stupid, not it does get lots of heavy usage running around town all day but i still expect better. what does everybody use and how good are they
Until recently, we had a dinky little Fiesta van that was absolutely brilliant. It went like hot snot and never had a problem. I racked up some serious miles in it and the only worrying moment in it was coming back from Swansea once in biblical rain on the M4 and the driver side wiper wasn't really touching the glass so, in the dark and rain, I couldn't even see the lane markings, but that wasn't the van's fault, it was my tight arsed boss refusing to replace it as it was up for sale. I threw my toys out big time when I got back and refused to drive it again until it was sorted. He replaced it with a Focus estate with all the extras and I hate it. It's like driving a double bed with half the springs missing. We had an MG ZR once, really quick, but bits kept falling off it. I drove it to Cologne once but he wouldn't let me take it on the Ring, it had to get us home, I suppose.
Drive a Ford Transit, been nothing but troublesome since the day it was delivered, currently been off the road for 3 weeks with another electrical problem!!!!
astra van. used them for years with no bother. i paid £2000 for my 02 van 4 yrs ago. MOT usually costs @ £120 - £150 incl. for the past 2 yrs. usual stuff, pads, discs, boots, anti roll bars....
Vauxhal vivaro van on 60plate now got 82000 pn the clock. Had from new and always serviced when required and had no problems with it.
I've got a movano too. 1st one I had was a 57 reg and was perfect till it hit 140k miles then I had no end of trouble, had toget thr clutch gear box replaced, I now have a brand new movano and already the fuel gauge keeps goin off,
As the movano keeps breaking i get to drive hire vans quite alot. the worst by far is anything with an iveco badge on it. the best i have driven was a little 120ps ldv but sadly they are no more. i also quite like the new peugeot range but not sure i would want one when the miles start racking up
Toyota Hiace had it now for 5 years its an 04 plate and well its brilliant taken the bikes all over Europe in it ........the best make of 4 wheeled vehicle i have ever owned.... would i buy another one in a heart beat
