Update, after test riding the Panigale S :D

Tyre seems ok, it looks like the 90 degree valve add on was at fault, so took it off.

    Cheers guys!

I plug my own tyres: never a problem.

I've done trackdays on the push-in plugs, toured around Europe on them, and I've even plugged tyres using ear plugs, twice in fact - I needed to get home.
One of my by-the-roadside-earplug-bodge repairs lasted 2000+ miles to the end of the tyre.

I've ridden with a flat front tyre when I needed to get somewhere: centrifuge keeps them up - but doesn't work with rear tyres.

I honestly don't know why people are so scared of plugs and repairs; maybe I've been exceptionally lucky, but neat holes plug fine and I don't know what the fuss is about.
Anyone who's worried should try and cut a bike tyre up - they're bloody strong things.

My last punture damaged the metal inside the tyre, and I made it the 800 miles home ok on my own, but with my wife on the back, I could not sleep at night if the worst happened.

But I like the ear plugs idea I had plenty of those with me and with the tyre weld it may have worked.

I had a rear tyre plugged once and it was fine, however it was always in the back of my mind that it was there and my confidence levels dropped dramatically!
It's only a couple of quid to fix though so I would say try it and see how you get on.

Not for me, I am sure a pro plug would be fine, but it would be at the back of my mind chipping away at my confidence.
