nexx xr1r carbon helmet

got one delivered on friday,wore it out today for the first time. wow!! amazing lid and glad i took the plunge and bought one, as light as a feather on and the huge visor meant much more vision than normal. usaully commute wearing and old arai chaser, since binned it and my second choice for commute is my agv stealth. crap wearing that again after the nexx. was at knockhill today (it was dry) and showed it to a few mates, all very impressed.

its was ok, bit louder than i thought it would be, but i had all the vents open, plus i usually wear plugs but didnt bother today, it was a lot quiter than either my old arai or my agv. have to say though im a bit deaf

 

I have one of these, its excellent! Great field of vision snd ultra light.
Quality bit of kit imo!

 

I'm going to try one on in London this weekend, this one should go ok with my leathers.

 

got a white/black one to go with my berik gear. great lid. only problem is they changed the design of the visors, so still waiting on a tinted coming, although staying in scotland it wont get a lot of use.

 

i got one it fits spot on for me. very light and quality kit.
it is a bit weird on the noise though ..if you hold your head up like you would on a naked bike it is quiet ,but when you ride a sports bike with your head downwards it is noisy.
loads better that my old arai rx7 corsair though.

£299 for the carbon shells, (or £199 for normal shell) plus £40 for the dark visor.

 

Is it easy to change visors?

I would think they do a light tint on a visor too..?

 

Apparently they are quite easy and they have just released a quick release visor for it. At the moment there is only the 80% tint and clear visors but I'd expect more tints to be released.

 

The visor, unless recently redesigned is a pain to change, you need a coin or a screwdriver. Hopeless!

 

Has anyone had an issue with sizes?

I'm a 58 head and wear a medium (57-58) in all the other helmets i've tried and the sizing chart says a medium but a lot of people are saying that they are a tad small including Matt at Nexx Helmets FREE UK Delivery on Everything | Worldwide Shipping so should go a size up.

never heard of nexx, but it looks very nice.

 

Helmet has now been bought in White/red carbon, but just got home and got it to the box to find the pinlock system on the visor is broken, hopefully they will send me a new visor. Got it for £310 with a dark visor (awaiting delivery) included. I had to go a size up from my normal helmet as the Med was too small. I'll let you know how i get on with it.
