Treated the Mrs ;-) to a new TV which has internet access. Watched some YouTube vids but that's about it so far. Just wondering what apps/services people recommend using and what keyboard to get. It's a Sony bravia ex403 46".

Really pleased with it so far especially as it's replacing an old rear projection 32" off of 1990! Can't wait to get COD on it when I get home from work (she's taking the kids shopping) :-D

Don't recall seeing allshare but will check when I get back. Gutted there's no facebook app!

Do you use a keyboard, if so which one?

Face book app!!!! Lol. Think I used it once. I dont bother with a keyboard....must get one tho, a right pain using the remote. All share is a samsung app, as far as I know. Its pretty cool. Eg. Any videos, pics, music etc on my phone can be linked through the tv (bluetooth like) and stored on a usb.

Watched a 3d film last night, its good but not sure it's worth the price! Loads of features.... Need a bigger one.....lol And a bigger living room! MotoGP looks ace that's all that matter to me, as long as the racing is sharp I'm happy.... :)

I tried watching a 3D film wearing my wayfarers the other night. It was crap.

    But I felt good.

Just realised you can use the numbers on your remote the enter text "old school" style so won't bother with a keyboard now :). My only regret after using the it for COD is that I didn't get a 600hz one. There is definite lag in fast moving game play but that's my only gripe. Also p1ssed the MotoGP was on red button and not in HD.

You should be able to use your smart phone/tablet as a remote, keyboard & mouse these days.

Well after the weekend and two days use I took my Samsung 8000 back for a full refund, I snowballed them with a list of bugs and gripes about it and the refund was done! Then ordered an LG 55" 760T and LG surround sound system with 3D blue ray, lots of bugs on the supersonic Samsung and the last straw was coffee this morning seemed to pull up menus that I spend ages before trying to activate the day before! So much for gesure control! I loved the style of the TV just a shame the rest is far from the hype!

Now have to wait a week for the LG!

The samsungs faults are for example, very slow wifi connection and YouTube playback, voice commands poor!, voice commands do not work with too much ambient noise, hand gesure control is hit and miss, twitted app is useless as the keyboard disappears when you want to enter passwords etc, backlight shows multiple corners in low light as it bleeds into the black, edge of image both sides is fuzzy.... and I could list more, tbh for a 1500.00 40" screen I was very disappointed! Sorry Samsung but I give it 6/10 maybe the images is super slick but the active 3d glasses are poor, too small and show high
levels of flicker! So it's passive 3d for me on the big LG.. :D

I got an unexpected result tonight. After a couple of months of my sky+ box slowly going mental, I phoned them to get a replacement. Long list of "have you tried"s, yes, plus some I found on the web that sky don't like to tell you about, then eventually she says she can send me an engineer to try and fix or replace the box with a refurb for the standard £65, or she will send me a replacement box but it will have to be an HD one because they don't make the sky+ ones anymore, for.....£65.

    ?

Even with no HD its a much bigger hard drive, no brainer then.

Downside is though, Mr Pearson, it's self install.

    Now there's a dilemma.

So £65 changes hands and this evening the box arrives. Open it up, brand spanking. No way is this a refurb. Set it up and it doesn't recognise the card completely. Not a problem, she told me this might happen, just phone up and they'll rebuild the card online. Phone up, explain to the lady, she moans because it's not connected to the modem. I explain it never has been as its too far from the other one for me to be arsed to run an extension. Never mind, she says, she'll just mirror the HD card in the other box. But I'm not paying for HD in both rooms, just the one. Oh no she says, if you're an HD subscriber with multi room, it's HD on both boxes.

    !

If I d known that I'd have taken the disc cutter to the old box years ago.
