Had my first ever race yesterday in Malaysia, at Johor Circuit - Pasir Gudang . Old (and very rough) circuit which once hosted the MotoGP years ago, not that you would believe it. The tarmac is so rough I battered a new tyre in 15 laps! It was a real hoot though! Qualified 8th and then came 2nd, very happy. Worst thing was half the track was dry and the other half it was raining. Few bum twitches whilst riding on Supercorsa SC2's. Few pics: This close to winning, passed him on the last turn and couldn't get the drive out: and of course a few nice views Video here which the guy in front took, the last 7-8 mins I had him and the last corner I lost it! Oh well, all part of learning race craft I guess. PG Race Day 1 July 2012 - Ducati Rear View - MAIN RACE 10 Laps - SMSA BRS Round 3 - YouTube
I went wide and it was spinin' up on the curb. His 1198SP just had the low end grunt. You can see in the vid he pulls very well on the straight. Next time!
Nice one and a great effort for your first race! Am hoping to start racing next year, looking forward to it!
great effort Rich , you have done it now you will be hooked so there goes your bank account :-}} see you in August at Sepang
Ha, I know. Bloody tyres are the most expensive thing! Next round is in October, think I'll be on the R6 then.
