That's why I went up to TST sat, convinced they where out, it was running 40psi rear... Courtesy of Hunts Manchester. Still didn't feel great however when it dried up got to be honest they felt better, it's in my head now so they are off just need to make a decision..... Reckon I'll e bay the old ones might get a fiver!
Yup and its nice to get new rubber and will give you that confidence again .Ps what do you think of Tony Salt the old dude who runs TST last time i was there he seemed to have lost the plot!
Front tyre pressure seems a little high there si, i thought the max was 36psi for a front tyre. 32-34 and 38-40 for me
Nice guy he used to run SMD years ago loads of knowledge but he is a bloody good sales man (bit like me!!) he could make a pair of Foookyu Ditchfinders sound awesome! Ps proper well connected in the bike world knows every bugger.
Another one for the Sportsmarts think they are really great in the dry or wet, didn't get on with the qualifiers but these are great.
Loving the s20's here, feedback and grip are great... I'm at 1200 miles so far with 3-4 mm left. I'm certainly going to replace with the same, I love em!
I'm running with the new S20s close on a 1000 miles without too much wear - good feel in the wet or dry and so grippy. Took the advice of the Honda dealer and running recommended tyre pressures 36F 42R.
Pirelli rosso 2s (not the diablo corsas) 3300 miles so far and at least 1000 left, road miles, one track day in inters and 1400 miles around scotland with luggage, not one single moment and it was very wet in scotland for 2days, 34f 36r perfect tyre wear. I wanted bridgestone bt023s but couldnt get them at a good price like the rossos, i wont put full on sports tyres on my bikes no point unless lots of trackdays, bt023s are awesome and you will get at least 5000 miles out of a rear.
Running sportsmarts and they have been amazing, used BT 014,15,16 and ok but don't last. Dunlop qualifier I did not like, 2ct very good but not a patch on the sportsmarts. Which I've done 2300 miles + and 3 track days all of which were fun and I'm amazed ow well they have stood up tommy riding and th conditions I have thrown at them. Bless your pushing hard on track days the sportsmarts are ideal
Dunlop GP racer absolutely awesome. Road pressures front 32 rear 36, track front front 24 rear 21. Personally unless your 20 stone or ride with pillion all the time stay away from the oem recommendation of 36 / 42 its way to high for fast twisties and will over less grip and slower warm up. Give it a try and see what you think drop a few psi at a time and see if you prefer it, imo tyre pressures are like suspension settings and very personal as everyone weighs different amounts, has different styles and different pace its not something that one size fits all or it works four my faster mate so must be great. Don t be afraid to play around is my advice if you don't like it, it takes 2 minutes to revert back to your preferred setting.
I run 36 / 42 as it's what's recommended in the owner's manual. Slave to the man that I am I must add that I found those pressures a little hard until I went and had my suspension setup for me. Now they feel spot on.
On sunday I was running 34 front and 36 rear on the BT016. Probably helped? Having that little bit more tyre on the Tarmac? Bororich I personally found running the 36/42 a little twitchy? Could just be me getting use to it all though?
I find the recommended settings twitchy as well, I run 33/38 as I like a 'planted' front but can handle a slightly harder rear. You'll find your preference but I wouldn't drop much lower than 32/36.
